how is your signal strength connecting to the router? You might just have a low signal from where your laptop is that keeps cutting out.

Does your signal get cut for minutes/hours, or is it just cutting on and off every so often for a few seconds. I get that, i think its just signal loss because its wireless

I'm not sure what hardware you have, but recently my gf had a problem with her brand new laptop not wanting to connect with her brand new router.  Signal strength was always 100%.  It would connect, disconnect, etc.  Lots of other ppl seemed to be having the same problem.

After a buncha headaches, i finaly found the solution.  Her toshiba laptop didnt use the proper software to connect.  I think it was the built in WinXP wireless network software.  I downloaded something called the 'Intel pro' wireless software, and it's been great since.

Ah i just found the page on google:

http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/cs-010623.htm

Make sure you know what wireless adapter you have and pick the appropriate software!

GL.
