here believe in tarot card readings?
Some strange methhead 30+ year old woman on Saturday morn read mine after I said "I don't believe in that bull****" and when I glanced over I saw a white wolf + a mountain of snow next to it, and the bottom cards looked to be the devil + some fire card, what does this all mean ?

every deck is different, and that one doesn't sound like any deck I've ever heard of.
on a side note, I know a couple people who are 'tarot card experts' and actually make their living giving other people readings. The funny thing is that all of these people (the ones that I know anyway) are complete fuckups and can barely even run their own lives. The thought of them giving other people advice just makes me laugh.

That reading was strange because I believe in the devil and I'm thinking the white wolf & mountains represent coke which I was doing at the time of the reading...

very strange shit

Does this mean there is method to your madness or madness to your methhead! Tarot yeah...find someone who knows what it really all means.

I've always found that when doing a reading a person has to interpret it for themselves. If you found meaning in the card that is seperate than what the lady said, go with that. A lot of times cards dont neccesarily predict things, they just give you something to think about.

The thing is, you can take any symbol or picture or whatever and translate it into something meaningful in your life.
Did you ever see the South Park episode about that guy that claimed he could speak with the dead or whatever, and in the end he won biggest douche in the universe award or whatever?
Same thing.

Tarot is good for using as a gaming system, in the sense of using it to force yourself into alternative interpretations of your life. Used properly it allows you a look at yourself from another angle, which can be really useful.
As for any "magical" elements, I remain dubious at best.

I dont believe in it at all.
One thing that humans excel at is finding patterns. We learn patterns of society, patterns of nature, we even find patterns were there are none. Like shapes of clouds, images in the stars, even racist-like prejudice could just be humans looking for a pattern when the pattern is not really there. The same phenomenon applies to tarot cards. When your brain gets the reading it looks for pattern/correlation even if there is none.

I'm not sure what to believe. I've had tarot card readings from a couple of people, and one person was really good at it, while the others weren't. It seems that part of what's needed is a good intuition about the person you're doing a reading for.

Exactly.
If you look hard enough at something you're going to see a pattern, or connection... that's all it is.
