re-programming your mind/removing negative thoughts..

Is there any way to remove negative programming? I'm really negative about stuff most of the time and it really sucks.
Is there any way to "re-program" my mind to have positive thoughts and a positive outlook on life?

just make the decision to be more positive and stick with it. eventually you will find that you've changed into a more positive person.
that hasn't worked for me, but i think it's still good advice.
i hear it's possible with pyschadelics but that's tricky and risky and i have no idea what you're supposed to do. ask tim leary or something.

I do try to be positive but "the old me" fights so hard to stay where it is, in a negative mindset.
If i think a positive thought an even bigger negative thought comes along and trys to destroy the positive thought.

yeah man, tim leary has the answers.
just like, be cool. why would you want to 'reprogram' yourself? you've already been programmed, and we haven't advanced too much in human programming since you were born. just think happy thoughts! oh yeah!

Just smile. Whenever you realize you're not smiling, smile. Also, proper diet/nutrition and get some more exercise.

its totally not.
you CAN change how your brain works, you CAN re-wire your neuro-net.
watch "what the bleep do we know" www.whatthebleep.com i think
it talks about how your brain works, among other things, and how synapses in your brain, how if they fire together, ie: if you get happy when you think about sex, those 2 synapses wire themselves together. you can change that, lets say if every time you do drugs, you get sad. you can change that, you have to consciously think and interrupt the thought processes, and rewire your own brain.
watch the movie. im shit at explaining stuff like this. too deep for a keyboard.
also, the way you think about yourself matters. if you think you are a piece of shit, your brain floods your body and cells with bad juju, for lack of a better term. it has been proven-here- http://www.whatthebleep.com/crystals/ that when you focus your energy and thoughts on water, even if you tape a label on a bottle of water, the molecules change. check out the link.
okay, so you can change water molecules with thought. great, how does it affect me? well YOU are, what, 80% water? the human body is more water than anything, so your thoughts DO affect your body, your cells, your reality.
watch the movie. what the BLEEP do we know

I suffered from negative thoughts for years which I swear were brought on through heavy cannabis use. Gave up the damn stuff but the negative thoughts persisted
I started taking St Johns Wort and before I knew it all the negative thoughts faded away!
I still might get the odd negative thought every now and then but they are very few and far between.

While I agree with the positive thinking yields positive results I disagree about What the Bleep. It was mainly pseudo-science entertaining at best but definitely not fact.

minimize your 'chemical' intake, including caffiene. drink water. try to only drink water & maybe a juice every now & then. try that for a month. with that, get on a normal sleep schedule & a full nights rest, but dont sleep in. eat healthy foods, no junkfood. be physically active, take walks if you have to. if you need a jumpstart, pick up some 5-HTP (5-hydroxy-L-tryptophan) from the local health food store. its a natural mood enhancing supplement. take that regularly, until you feel like you dont need it anymore. save the rest for later.
make it routine.
its not that hard really, these little things WILL make a difference after a month. healthy body, healthy mind.

like 40 said, cut out caffeine. Switch from soda to water.
Caffeine makes people jerks. It makes me a jerk, I know that for sure. Plus, its a diuretic, so it causes you to constantly have to piss, which makes people on edge. And then when you do piss, you become dehydrated, which makes people on edge.
Exercise is huge too.

yeah 40 was spot on. Less 'chemicals'.. more natural foods, lots more water.
Chances are you are chronically dehydrated. Drink more water.
If you watch a lot of TV.. stop. They don't call it programming for nothing.
Chill in nature more. Listen to your inner self. Listen less to the berating phallacies of the ego. Love yourself.

Reprogramming the brain is possible.
May I suggest some reading material:
Mainstream: Tony Robbins either of his first two books--life planning with heavy dose of NLP Less Mainstream: Robert Anton Wilson--Prometheus Rising or Cosmic Trigger Dr. John Lilly Programming and Reprogramming the Human Bio-Computer
Things that can work: healthier diet/excercise routine re-evaluation of libing conditions LSD mystic traditions (eastern or western)

I agree with novumorganum. Timothy Leary spoke about deprogramming the brain, no surprise he was a huge advocate of psychedelics. You have to program in good things. I always try to add one good habit every so often.
You have to push out the bad by filling every gap with good, so that the bad eventually just leaves. Hallucinogenics are great because they tend to eliminate all the negative things you believe and doubts you have. (if you believe you can't, your right) Life and its tasks are much simpler when your entirety in in harmony and working for one common goal, your happiness.
And all these things like diet and exercise really come when you start to believe your soul and spirit should be alive and here. You start to realize how you can consciously care for your vessel and how that extra care will affect the entity attached. One step at a time. Learn to love yourself. Don't try to be anyone else, do what you can with what you are/have.
Peace and good luck on your journey.

Try and remove yourself from negatity in general. It's harder than it sounds - it's inherent in movies, music, & of course every day life...but if you're selective about what you concentrate on most of the time, aware of what those triggers lead to, eventually you will find yourself becoming more positive and smiling a lot more.
Good luck.

Re-programming is really very specific to the individual. So, no one can really say much that can help you. All you can do is find your hang-ups and work on them. Sometimes they hide very well.

Thanks for all the help and ideas.
I usually drink allot of water and eat some fruit but i eat crap too so i should stop eating junk food. Maybe I'll start running or something.
If my mind has the habit of looking for the most negative things out of a situation then i should be able to turn it around and make positive thinking a habit.

Is there any way to remove negative programming? I'm really negative about stuff most of the time and it really sucks.
In my experience, yes, but it isn't easy. It isn't hard, just takes a lot of effort. The trick is to police your thoughts... you will still have negative thoughts, but try to realize them for what they are when they happen. Once you identify the negative thought, put yourself in place of your aggression.
For example, I am sitting behind some bonehead at a stop light. The light turns green and they are on the cell phone. I have places to be, and we aren't moving. I honk, hard and long, and they get the point and move on. Now we go 5 mph down the road while I am boiling because I have places to be. I can't pass, I am going to be late, and this yoyo in front of me is making it worse. ARGH!
... instead, work it out using the above advice:
I am sitting behind some bonehead at a stop light. The light turns green and they are on the cell phone. I have places to be, and we aren't moving. I wonder what could be so important that they are talking instead of driving? What if their child just died and they are just now finding out about it? How much are they really slowing me down? Is it their fault I am late, or my own fault? Why didn't I leave a few minuets earlier if it was such a big deal? I wonder how many times I have made a mistake that annoyed the hell out of somebody behind me. In the grand scheme of things, is being upset over a few minutes late worth working myself up towards a heart attack, getting in a fight, or causing an accident?
... It isn't easy. The mind always wants to set oneself above the object that is being annoying. "I would never do that..." and rightly so... but for everything that we would never do, we will do something else that annoys somebody. Nobody is perfect.
The more you rethink your negative thoughts, the fewer negative thoughts you have. Whenever I start to get upset about something, I immediately ask myself why am I upset? Once I identify the source, I try to put it into perspective... no matter what the problem is, it can always be worse. At least I am alive, at least I have a place to be, even if I am late...
Finally, I try to keep a smile... literally. When I walk down the street, I smile. I look at the trees, listen to the birds, enjoy the sky... and smile. Crazy as it sounds, it helps. It is hard to remain in a bad, negative mood, with a smile on your face. I start to smile, and all the sudden realize, hey... I'm happy. Donno why I am happy, but I am... I am alive, and that is reason enough... plus the trees are playing, the birds are singing, it is a beautiful day... what else could I ask for?

man recently i have had to face the possibility of evil really being something seperate from human thought... and all sorts of sick vibes, but i think im getting over it as the weather is getting sunny and warm (:
goodluck, but i really think that 'just getting happy' is the best advice, make the choice to be a source of light and dont let go of it until its just time to ride down the slope a little again.
also, since uve been down so long. when you do come up, it should be insanely amazing.. bless!
