And I would say downloading it will do no justice by seeing it at the theater. It's worth the theater cost.

it was a good movie. but it was waaaaaaayyyy tooooooo loooooonnngggg.
self-indulgent wachowski crap. "We made the Matrix. They'll sit there for 2 and a half hours and love us for it."
all in all it was a good movie, but they could have cut so much out and it would have been more concise and to the point.
when that shit finally ended, I had to piss like a racehorse.

Yeah, haha its one of the few only non-remake or sequel movies in the theater right now, hollywood is really running out of ideas.... "mission impossible 3..... ATTACK of the Scientologists!" (eh its based on a comic book but that doesnt count)

i just got home from the cinema and i agree... it is a really great movie... definitely worth watching in the theater...
funny thing is as soon as "V" appeared i started thinking "i know this voice somewhere" ... and about 5 mins later i figured it out... it's agent smith!!! but it was weird hearing him with his original british accent... so i waited til the credits rolled and it was indeed hugo weaving... agent smith... gotta love that voice...

Yeah, great movie. I really enjoyed it. It was actually finished quite awhile ago, but then the subway bombing that occurred in spain delayed it's release. Not too unreasonable I suppose.
I enjoyed the artistry of the film, as well as the actors. And /sigh/, Natalie Portman makes me swoon.

Wait are you saying he is oringally british? i remember hearing somewhere that he was irish or something, but he seems more british than irish to me. Yeah, he has a powerful voice, moreso in lord of the rings and as agent smith.

Yeah, i noticed how the whole reference to the election of the chancellor could compare to bush in many ways.... 1. in the movie the ppl relected him out of fear and being afraid of change(he afforered a way out of the st. marys virus with a vaccine they created like they did the virus itself) Bush affored a way(supposefully) out of "terrorism" and the american ppl were afraid of change and ignorant, and did not even consider kerry who although had some flaws was way better than bush in his policies..... Also you notice MANY poltical references besides this one, remeber the whole "color codes for home alert"???? Orange, yellow ,red code? and for wot reasons? NONE! this movie shows how the curferws are set and randomly you see things like "Red code is in order", to show the power and brainwashing of most dictatorships and totalitarian regims......... "kinda" makes ya think eh?

i saw it, tis a good movie, a powerful message ...just a little too long. one other criticism, some liberals and obviously the wachowski bros think bashing christianty and being pro islam is for some reason cool. stuff like that only makes us lefties look dumber. if you are going to bash religous conservatives, who are probably the people in this world who most deserve bashing, you have to bash them all. islamic conservatives are just as looney, nutty and dangerous as christian ones.

I can't believe I wasted $20 on the DVD of this turgid and derivative piece of crap. Ok...it wasn't that bad but it wasn't good either.
So, England in the future is a dystopian dictatorship (1984 anybody....?). And there is this long and stupid sub-plot about how V was used in a medical experiment. Sure, I can admire the "fuck authority" attitude of the move, but that isn't enough to keep me awake.

P.S. The Political Correctness/Leftiness of the movie was pretty bad too. Did anybody notice the blatant effort to tie the virus attack to 9/11 conspiracy theories (the government did it, etc..)? Or the effort to make Islam look good? I don't need a movie to tell me to be "tolerant".

I thought the movie was cheesy as hell. Natalie Portman... hot as bawls.. but cheesy movie.
But if you looked at the "ideas/message" it was getting across and what it trying to paralell then not too bad of a movie.
