V tried to kill you? I don't know what I would be more scared of...his knives or his incessant talking.

I've heard from people that loved it and from people that hated it. I'm curious enough that I will check it out in the near future.

I think it could have been a great movie if it was done better.

I can't believe I wasted $20 on the DVD of this turgid and derivative piece of crap.  Ok...it wasn't that bad but it wasn't good either.

So, England in the future is a dystopian dictatorship (1984 anybody....?).  And there is this long and stupid sub-plot about how V was used in a medical experiment.  Sure, I can admire the "fuck authority" attitude of the move, but that isn't enough to keep me awake.

 :snore:

P.S.  The Political Correctness/Leftiness of the movie was pretty bad too.  Did anybody notice the blatant effort to tie the virus attack to 9/11 conspiracy theories (the government did it, etc..)?  Or the effort to make Islam look good?  I don't need a movie to tell me to be "tolerant".

I liked it just on the principle of "overthrowing the government."

Yep, same here.  There were things I thought could have been done differently to deepen the effect, but whatever.  I like movies that rebel against corrupt and evil government, what can I say.  :tongue2:

The movie has a lot of unsettling symbolism, begging to be applied to contemporary politics

It had to be done

I thought the movie was cheesy as hell. Natalie Portman... hot as bawls.. but cheesy movie.

But if you looked at the "ideas/message" it was getting across and what it trying to paralell then not too bad of a movie.
