dude, agar, you are the shit!

I really like the idea of the ziplock feature! Much more practical! I don't think you need to go any smaller than 1.5L. If someone wants to go smaller than that they might as well just using mason jars.

hey dude, can I buy stock in your store? Seriously. I bet you will make a buttload of cash!

Just read the whole thread, can't wait. What else will you carry? Hopefully that LNS I've been hearing so much about, or yer compost. I'm excited!

PS: Keep the ziplock! Noobs such as myself hate having to buy more expensive tools.

How about with a self healing patch so i can inject without ever opening the baggie. Then were talking sterile! hehe just a thought!

I like the bags, but I would want the 3L myself. That is comparable to the current large bags which are closer to 4 liters. I don't care about the zip lock feature. It sounds like it would just drive up the price. I do, however, really like the base you have on the bag! That would make it easy to load. An injection platform OR port would also be nice. An injection port is self-explanitory and probably too expensive to keep the bag reasonably priced. By injection platform what I mean is a portion of the bag that has some sort of tape over it or thicker plastic for reinforcement for injection and hot glue sealing. I would want the bags to be no more than 75 cents per bag if possible.

By the way, in my opinion, anyone not using "spawn" bags--really substrate bags--but trying to grow more than a PF cake can get you is really wasting time. What are you waiting for? Impulse sealers are only about $30 online and at 35 cents a large bag for the cheap ones and 60 cents for the nicer ones, I think you're crazy not to go with substrate bags! I do everything in them now and never spawn anything. Spawning is a waste of time and effort for people growing less than fifty pounds a month in my opinion.

3L bags sound great and I second or third or.. whatever a injection site/ platform. A self healing injection site might be a very good idea since the bags will be reusable, people wont be stabbing their bags to hell.

ok not having done G2G yet,

How much/many can 1.5 liter bag be spawned to other bags, using a conservative ratio.

The way it is looking, it may end up with a 1.5, 3 & 6 liter bag.

6 liter bags would be sweet! Good to pasteurize poo in. I had an oven bag rip on me last time....and it was back to the pillow case tek.......messy messy messy.

Err...I guess screw the pasteurization. Might as well sterilize the thang and directly inoculate it.

maybe screw the poo all together. Once this store opens up can I finally get my hands on some of your magic compost agar?

Depending on how much you transfer, a fully colonized 1.5 liter bag could make 50 more

whats the main advantage of using these bags over jars Agar? Is it the size of them allowing for larger amounts of substrate to be inocculated? Or better gas exchange? or both? and are they reusable? theylook good!

I'm still learning about "bags", but it does seem to be the "way to go".

Great Idea, good looking product.

Looking forward to supporting Fungi Supply!

i hate the way average bags have the crease on the bottom.  The way these bags are made make it look like a Capri Sun package....  Now all we need is the little straw thing to poke through the hole. LOL

Well, to start, they are convenient & almost idiot proof.

They are light in weight.

They don't require lids.

They don't crack or break, like glass jars can.

They are easy to "shake", compared to jars.
(because they are flexible)

They conform to PC space, so you can increase loads.

They have a built in filter.

They can be washed out & are reusable.
(even dishwasher safe)

They don't take up much storage space (empty), compared to jars.
(5 hundred will fit in a cardboard box, for canning jars).
