isn't that the movie where you get to see two third world 12 year olds having a gunfight?
always wanted to see that, but forgot about it when it was new. thanx for reminding me.

Never seen that before.
I guess I'll have to watch it.
Definitely rent it! This is one of the best movies that I have ever seen. No doubt about it. It is based on a true story, too.
Krishna--I was really disappointed by The Constant Gardener. I thought it was very boring and drawn out. A real let down, after City of God.

Its actually one of my favourite movies, it is subtitled, but there really isn't that much dialogue to pay attention to.
If you haven't rented it and are looking for it, you'll find it in the foreign films section at blockbuster.

Yup, very stylish movie. And I hope you're kidding when you say they dubbed it in english?! Portugese is very pleasurable to the ear, even when they're talking shit!
I love the part where the main character decides he has to go down the violent way and rob/kill someonefor money, but keeps on meeting chill people to which he doesn't want to do any harm, with one of them even smoking him out. How can you rob someone who's offering you to roll a joint!
And the ending is awesome as well.

i thought it was pretty good. definitely much slower and more 'reserved' than city of god - but i think that helped lend to the 'Trial'-esque feeling of the movie - stuck in beaurocracy, peoples' lives just bounce around meaninglessly, some of them making billions and billions, and others dying testing experimental pharmaceuticals they don't even know they are taking- all just waves in an inhuman machine. plus just to raise the question of corporate autonomy is a valuable one in our age

A freind made me watch it a few months back. It was late at the time and I was really tired. Didn't think I could be bothered with the subtitles as I was falling asleep, but the film had me instantly grasped. It really got me thinking and now I can't believe I almost refused to watch it.
