YOU ARE PUSSIES!!
This is not the correct approach to unfair denial of personal freedoms by our government. This approach is akin to telling a jew in just-prior-to-Nazi Germany he should hide his religious icons lest they be illegalized. This person may have taken this drug in a less than ideal situation (ok, a far less than ideal situation) but nobody was hurt, and lessons were learned. Your acceptance of the unfair treatment your society gives you only reinforces and encourages this treatment.
If you are seriously worried about the injustices of our government's oppressive rule over our personal chemical consumption SPEAK OUT ABOUT IT!
Telling a Jew to hide his religious symbol is an excellent idea. At least then he can practice his beliefs in private rather than be unable to practice them at all, or even worse, get killed for it.
If we try to tell state lawmakers that Salvia should be legalized, they'll point to the teenagers getting high off it on YouTube. They'll point to people like the OP who lose touch with reality in school. They'll point to the parents of that stupid Brett kid who insist that Salvia killed him. And then they'll say "We can't let people peddle this dangerous substance to children!" and they'll make Salvia possession a criminal offense.
We're losing the media war. Every story in the media about Salvia compares the plant to LSD, a Schedule I substance that "everyone knows" causes you to jump out of windows thinking you can fly. If we continue to flaunt our Salvia use in public, it will be made illegal, it will probably disappear from the black market and no one will ever use it again.

Alright man, you go ahead and bend over and take it from Bush. Say "I'm a criminal for using mushrooms, I should be brought to justice for supporting the terrorists" Say "Please don't take away my last drugs massa, I'll be good and use them where you can't see!"
Well guess what? Prohibitionists are in power and we are not. So for now, we have to. According to the law, you ARE a criminal for using mushrooms, and they WILL take the last legal drugs away if we use them irresponsibly. The law may not be just, but it's still the law.
I know this post/thread is old but I thought this was well said, especially the first paragraph. Definitely better to keep something secret if thats the only way to protect its life.
lol salvia at school...I don't do salvia at home for fear it will randomly sneak up on me at school. Salvia is illegal in my state, which actually has its good aspects. It is just as bad for users to be uneducated about it as it is for lawmakers. I'm sure glad I don't have to worry about people coming out of headshops smoking it in their cars, call me a pussy...
Try telling a cop about how rediculous it is for weed to be illegal. It sure doesn't get the handcuffs off.
By the way, you know how salvia became illegal in my state? Cops finding it on people, and reporting their concern about it. Now 44 plants are illegal in my state, most of which are hardly psychoactive, if at all. Good job.
