Psilocybe cyanescens : Wavy Cap

how much more potent are the wavy's than cubes??? and how would be the simplest way to cultivate them indoors??? i was thinking of spawning the spores into WBS, and then spawning to a 60/40 mix of oak sawdust and hpoo. will this work???
What are the recomended spawn/fruiting temps???????

they are about 3-4 times more potent than cubes according to Psilocybin Mushrooms of the world, the fruiting temps on them are 55 degrees F, the easiest indoor way is in your fridge, there are many teks on here look at the top of the forum there is a whole cyan forum up there

I have eaten some azures no psilo cyans though, I have put some thought into going to the aztec temples and tripping there but this will cost some money and I hear the natives arent very friendly to "gringos"....

Psilocybe cyanescens are wood lovers not poo lovers You'll need to read up long before attempting to grow them, knowledge is power bro! GL I just love cyans as a matter of fact they're my fav!!!

yea, now that i think about it more i'd hate me to. I'd dose me hard core if i was them. lol
that would be a cool, but kinda scary place to dose i think.
....back on topic. i know now that maple and alder are sufficiant for psil. cyans, but what other woods have worked for people? i wonder if straw would work? probably not. anyone know if those can survive outdoors in colorado?? zone 5 i think

I am looking forward to doing Cyans in the future. Plan to buy one of the Heater/Cooler Fridges as a fruiting chamber.
I have a long way to go to get there but already have an Azure and Cyan Print waiting for my arrival once I am ready.
I will be watching this thread with great interest and may as a couple questions myself. There is precious little information on woodlover cultivation.

Woodlovers Lots of good info BTW It's not that cedar is higher in resins that other conifers that it won't colonize it's because cedars have a natural built in fungicide something only the genus Cedrus has to my knowledge.

Good luck with getting psilocybe cyanescens to fruit indoors. Anno has done it, I think (search his posts). Lots of folks grow them outside. I've got a few lbs of mycelium on alder chips ready to put outside when it warms up a bit.
I tried to get some to fruit by cold shocking the mycelium (colonized alder chips in a one-gallon pickel jar) outside in 20-30 degree weather for a week. The mycelium covered maybe 30% of the chips in the jar. This is what it looks like:

After the cold shock I brought it in and put under flourscent lights at about 65 degrees. So far it's been a week and no pins. I seriously doubt if I'll get any pins. Maybe it needs to be colder, but I'm too lazy to set up a temperature regime of 50 degrees.
On april fools, I'll just dump it, along with the other jars of colonized chips (which I did not cold shock), in the bed with another 10 lbs of alder chips/alder sawdust mixture and hope for some fruits this fall.
Good luck though! If you get the technique figured out, I think many, many people would love to hear how you did it.

I agree growing wavy caps indoors is going to be a toughy. As long as he doesn't mind a dozen or two failures before he gets it right then he should give it his all.
I suggest to him just staying patient and build a nice big outdoor patch with a few gallons of sawdust spawn. You will definitely never regret it.

yea, i just got a few prints, and am going to experiment with making a few different LC's using standard LC technique, and i had a great idea of making an "alderchip tea" to use as an LC. that would be SOOOoooooo..... cool if that works. i have a planter outside that is about 10 gallons. i figure that i can turn it into a "giant outdoor casing" here in zone 5, then bring it indoors for the winter.
I think that i'll use the Azures indoor tek for my psil. cyanescens. we'll see how it works out. try try again!!!

I don't know if it's relevant, but i've been trying without success to grow azuresence indoors. I can get some lovely rhizomorphic growth, and full colonisation, but they just don't wanna fruit for me. All the best for your grows though.

well, i live in an area where cyans grow like grass on everyblock i walk down and i've tried them and they are the best mushies i've ever had....i get way intense trips of em, glad to know the most potent mushroom in the world growns right down the street! but yea good luck on growin cyans indoors, its extremely hard to do because in order for them to fruit the humidity has to be right along with the temp and you need wood chips(alderwood preferably) its possible but it will be difficult..good luck
