Iron Chef America is to Iron Chef like the Office on NBC is to the Office on BBC. Passes the time, but a poor substitute.

In general, I definitely agree with this statement. However, I like how Iron Chef America cuts right to the chase- the Japanese show has to give you a background on all involved chefs, and then on the theme ingredient. You've been watching for like 15 minutes before he says, "ALLEZ CUISENE" or whatever.

That's true - but I wish they would have hired the same dubbing guys to dub over the American commentators cause the ones on the American show annoy me so much. That's what's missing the most.
This was actually one of the questions on my Rolling Stone reality TV application thingy and all i could come up with was Iron Chef and Jeopardy!.
So..
1. Jeopardy! 2. Iron Chef 3. Newsradio 4. Seinfeld 5. Lost

I'm a stay-at-home dad, so I see all the daytime tv. So I watch shows like ER, Judging Amy, Charmed, Law & Order, Star Trek: TNG, and DS9 and Voyager. Don't watch all of 'em all the time, but usually I catch at least one.

I wish i was home during the day, and that I had cable, and could smoke pot and watch Star Trek: TNG or DS9. Man, that would be TITS.

Hah. I also admit I watch Ellen Degeneres' show sometimes, if the guests are good.
