No, hehe, it's not in San Francisco, but south on the penninsula, but I did work for the Haight Ashbury Neighborhood Council 20 years ago, and YES, Ameoba records on Haight Street would be a great fantasy spot, if only they had the space for a nice woodchip landscaping area.
We used to have a tradition in the Haight. Around Christmas we used to make big tea batches in those industrial size thermos and walk down Haight and give away tea. That was 20 years ago. Until it got out of hand and there was crowds, and friends alerted us the cops caught on and they were looking for us.
We mosied on out of there and never went back. I think 1988 wasa the last time we did that. Something like 20 gallons of tea....We just gave it away in little dixie cups.
Oh those were the days..... *sigh*

shroomeydan, they were just joking about Amoeba records in the Haight in San Francisco...It's just a place where rock n rollers have a nice fantasy...There's nothinmg there except the worlds greatest record store.

Yep....Ameoba music is almost on the corner of Haight and Stanyan, the entrance to Golden Gate Park, but shrooms don't occur even close to there, why?..because too many peope sit, pee and walk all over that area all day, every day..It's an urban area, just like NYC in some ways
It takes alot more than walking down Haight Street to 'know'
This patch I posted isn't even in the city od San Francisco, it is over 30 miles south. In Fact, it is the surrounding suburbs of SF that has the landscaping, and barely the city of SF....
*but I do admit that one of my best spots is right smack in the middle of SF, in a very diabolical location...Nowhere close to the Haight tho, but even further downtown :P.... go figure...
Psychedelic mushrooms NEVER recognize human boundaries of any kind, not fences, not streets, not political or theoretical, or even theological > they grow where they want, and that can be in the most suprising of places.
and it's not the Haight, unless you actually know somebody there

These are some of the most impressive late season Cyan finds I've ever seen.
It really makes me wonder just how high of a temperature these things can take.

Here's the shots I could get during the day. The spot doesn't have good cover so I'm 'noided out snooping around during the AM. As such, I could only snap some pics of a corner of the patch:

Sorry, couldn't work in the date.

this makes the season this year almost 6 months (first pickings in October). record rains this March It's why I think the Bay Area is in some ways better than the PNW...Doesn't freeze like Washington, maybe drier, but longer lasting. melts in you mouth, tastes great too..hehe
