Amorphous Androgynous
    #5440444 - 03/25/06 08:14 AM (17 years, 10 months ago)

These guys are also known as Future Sound of London, who are best known as ambient music pioneers. But instead of their usual ambient electronic stuff, their last two albums have been pure psychedelic rock.

I've been listening to their newest album, Alice in Ultraland, for the last couple days now and have to say that it totally rocks. If you're into psychedelic rock in it's purest form, you won't be disappointed. This stuff puts Pink Floyd to shame. Their second album under the Amorphous Androgynous name, The Isness, is also really good, although the music on that album is more influenced by their previous ambient-techno style. I have to give big recommendations for these guys here. Shroomerites won't be disappointed. Check it out!

The Isness was released under the FSOL name. Tales Of Ephidrina was AA's other album.

I haven't heard Alice In Ultraland yet. But I wasn't a huge fan of The Isness. I think Lifeforms is the best that those two guys have made. It's a superb album!

Ah you're right about The Isness. The CD is right here in front of me too. They did release The Otherness under the AA name though, which is a remix/rework album of the Isness.

At first I was disappointed by FSOL's sudden change in style, but then I really learned to like it. Appreciating it for the first time on a dose of drugs also helps i guess! But Lifeforms is my favorite as well. It's actually my favorite album of all time.
