Looks like it may be an Agaricus. If you want to id it, read the forum rules for posting a proper description.

Looks like the generic mushroom that you buy in the shop.

good calls......definately Agaricus.....as are the generics from "the shop".......the italian browns....criminis....white buttons....Portabellas, etc.....are all believe it or not all varieties of one single species(even though its got two names).....Agaricus bisporus(2-spored) or Agaricus brunnescens(browning)....take your pick....they readily bruise brown to reddish when cut or handled....as most people already know....`the color of the spores are also brown and end up changing the gills the same chocolate brown color as they mature....Agaricus(meaning gilled) is ONE of the ancient names for mushrooms.....and at one time all 'gilled' mushrooms were called AGARICUS....though usually only having 2 spores per basidia....bisporus makes up for it by having 2 nuclei per spore and is able to create new mushrooms from just one spore!....instead of having to go out and run into a compatible mate....shes ready to start makin babies all alone right where she lands!(or he?)....the mushroom you found is the closely related "Yellow Skin" Agaricus xanthodermus but it bruises yellow and can be extremely poisonous to alot of people and one of the nastiest smelling things when scratched(this wont harm you)....interesting that some of the most prized Agaricus for the table also bruise yellow....and from the sweat smell of those you wouldnt even believe it was a mushroom....xanthodermus grow everywhere....high and low elevations....in the dirt....grass....leaves....parks....yards....fields....under trees....pastures....on the ocean?....and forests....from what ive seen the most encountered mushroom in California and probably anywhere....so if this is your first mushroom to learn its a good place to start....
