so i'm beginning to wonder about light sources. i hear blue light is preferable, but i was never really sure how much they ought to have.
this is the first time i've attempted to grow using natural light with an opaque tub. and i'm thinking it's not enough, even with a window over half as big as the lid's area.
so, about the light i'm going to purchase tomorrow. has anybody found anything that works better than a regular 10w fishtank fluorescent?

He remains this way for about three hours, making bizarre noises, pretending to be a new species that must learn to walk and talk and eat, etc. And he communicates with other life forms by way of the antennae on his head. Eventually we jam a tube from a waterbong into it's mouth and figure he's learned all he needs to know.

Light isnt as important to growth of mushrooms as it is to plant life. Mostly light is used for directional growth. Also, it is blue spectrum, not a blue flouro.

Not meaning to sound like a broken record but light intensity as well as duration during pinning makes all the difference. I use 20 watt "coolwhites" which are higher in the blue spectrum than "warm whites", although blue light can trigger pinning with only milliseconds in duration pincount will be few where as 12-16hrs. a day will leave you with maximum pin count as long as all other parameters are optimum (Blackman's Law).

Yes but it's not for just plants it is about everything in life. Growth is limited by the least available factor.
