Using Rice to Dry

Will using rice help dry the mushrooms? Anyone ever tried this? I figure you put rice in a salt shaker to absorb the moisture, so it works like a desiccant, maybe it will work for shrooms? I've pretty much found out from the site this will work, also can I just put the mushrooms in a bag and fill it with rice?

It will keep them dry, if they are already dried. But you won't be able to dry fresh mushrooms with a manageable amount of rice. Fan dry them.

Can I just leave them on some paper towel in my closet, my parents dont really agree with the whole drug thing, so I need to keep them hidden.

You put rice in a salt shaker so the rice doesnt get stuck.

I lived in a humid region one time, you needed to put rice in the salt shaker, if you didnt a pool of water would form. Rice absorbs moisture and holds it in, ever time the salt shakers emptry, you empty the rice and refill it. I dont know why you would put rice in a salt shake so the rice doesnt get stuck, thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard.

It's pretty lame to be growing and storing illegal substances in your parents' house. Just wait a few years when you're out on your own. The shrooms aren't going anywhere.

lol, yea this one will be closed soon
rice in a salt shaker is used for both a) agitating the STUCK SALT in the lid holes of the shaker and also for b) moisture control so the salt doesnt get stuck together.
As far as drying with rice....don't think so. It would be more efficient to just leave them in the closet with a paper towel under them. Won't be wonderfully dry, but will work.
