till its almost at full capacity. when you pick some up in your hand and squeeze it, only a few to no drops should come out.

I think RR explained field capacity really well. He said something to the effect of: when you squeeze it gently, a few drops should come out. When you squeeze it hard, it should come out in a steady stream.

Read my pinning strategy to learn what proper water delivery is. Remember moisten well but not so much as it's dripping and even if it's slightly on the dry side you'll be or at least you should be misting it to "near saturation" anyway after it's applied.
-------------------- Getting the most out of your casings!, A pinning strategy. Oyster Shell "Flour" $2 for 1lb. a hell of a deal Not what is overlay but rather what overlay is Gas Exchange vs. FAE "We all have priorities. I used a closet once setup a nice little lab trouble was all the shit that was in there ended up in the bedroom that pissed off the GF then I ended up dumping her as she was getting in the way of my sterile culture technique! Ya I got priorities too!!!"
