Well if the poop is already pastureized there is really no need to pastureize something that is already clean. But if your a tweeker about then the best way is to put it in a pot that has water at 170F and let it sit there for one hr or so. Or you can hydrate it and nuke it for five minutes. Or if the poop isnt pasturized yet you could mix it with the poop when you pasturize that.

By nuke it you do mean microwave right? Its going to be hard to get all that in the microwave, it would have to be wplit into like 6 batches... Kind of a mission.

So your telling me I can pasteurize the Coco Coir as it is in a brick without hydrating it first?

Okay how about this. Can I just hydrate the Coco Coir, then place in a black plastic garbage bag, and just use a plastic tub instead of the styrofoam cooler to submerge the bag in? Doesnt sound like theirs any reason why it wouldnt work, but you never know with these things........Thoughts?

The plastic tub would not hold in the heat very well if at all and the garbage bag would probably melt.
Just stick to what works.

Shiznit.... I figured the plastic tub wouldnt retain the heat. BTW ^^ what works is the microwave, but mine is way too small. Don't have a large oven either...
I might have a regular plastic cooler, that should work being as its made for retaining temps right? As far as using a pillow case for the Coco Coir, is their a risk that the coir might go through the fabric? I dont know, coco coir texture seems kinda dirt like, I don't know if Poo and Coir can be pasteurized using the same methods....

Unless your pillowcases are made of fishnet, I don't think that it will be a problem
Shredded poo and coir have very similar consistencies.

PCing will sterilize. Im using my Coco Coir in a 50/50 mix with Hpoo substrate, sterilizing will kill essential bacteria that promotes mushroom body growth.
I guess I'll pasteurize with the pillow case. Thanks Foo
