Fruiting chamber and Incubator purpose difference's?
    #5438642 - 03/24/06 02:55 PM (17 years, 10 months ago)

What are the different purposes between the fruiting chamber and incubator?
Fruiting chamber allow's/need's for FAE and an incubator does too?
They both need to hold certain temperature's right?
So what are their main difference's FC need's light and the Incubator doesnt?

uhhhh..
incubators keeps your jars hot. 82 degrees only gas exchange is needed
FC keeps your jars at 74 but mostly its purpose is to hold the humidity needed for fruiting. freash air exchange is needed 2 -6 times a day whatever you can give it.

FCs need adequate humidity, FAE, light, and the correct temperatures. When they are colonizing in the incubator, they will just use the moisture that is already in the jar. They need air, but not so much that you have to fan it or set up an exhaust system of some kind. They should be kept in the dark. They do need to hold certain temperatures, and those temperatures are about 84 for an incubator and 74 for a fruiting chamber...

Basically with an incubator you only need to worry about getting it into a proper temperature range, but with the FC you have to worry about Light, air exchange, and humidity also.
