The most fucked up part was definitely Jake the Snake smoking crack.

"Who do you nominate for the title of most "Badass Person" ever?"

Another one..."Grizzly Man" Tim Treadwell...Anyone that can live with Wild Grizzlys for 13 summers is a badass in my books...Although I think the fact he was insane may have contributed to his badassness.

my nomination for badass award is a guy we call Uncle Garth, sometimes Funky G. He isnt my uncle, but that is just what everyone calls him. He is a 50+ boat captain who just a few years ago was the first person ever admitted to the malaria ward in the biloxi hospital.
He contracted it while in Nigeria, where he had to negotiate some sort of deal between a tribe and the owner of the boat/merch because his first mate was drunk and hauling ass at night in a little boat and ran over a village girl fishing, who drowned.
That night they snuck on the boat, captured the first mate, and decapitated him and held it for ransom.

He beat malaria too.

Also, I have watched him not flinch when a meth head pointed a gun at him. I have personally been in the car with him 3 times when he has ran from the cops, and I have never seen or heard of him being caught!

I have watched him in so many fights, it seems people are just drawn to fighting him, he honestly rarely ever starts or provokes it. Even as a 50+ year old, I would still put him up against any UFC fighter.

Damn....he sounds like a real man.

This girl I know has a father who just had a heart attack. After being in the hospital for a couple of days he signed himself out, is ignoring the doctor's orders, and he is pretending nothing ever happened. I'd like to meet this guy and buy him a beer.

Marvin Heemeyer

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killdozer_%28bulldozer%29

Killdozer has been used as a nickname for the armored bulldozer constructed by Marvin Heemeyer and used to demolish a significant portion of Granby, Colorado in the United States of America on June 4, 2004. There is no evidence that Heemeyer ever planned to name his creation, and no one was killed or injured in Heemeyer's rampage.

Heemeyer's Killdozer was a Komatsu D335A bulldozer (some sources say it was a Caterpillar D9, but local newspapers are specific on the model) fitted with makeshift armor plating covering the cabin, engine and parts of the tracks. This made the machine impervious to small arms fire and resistant to explosives; three external explosions and over 200 rounds of firearm ammunition fired at the Killdozer had no effect on it. [1]

In places, the vehicle's armor was over one foot thick, consisting of concrete sandwiched between sheets of steel to make ad-hoc composite armor. For visibility, Killdozer was fitted with three video cameras linked to monitors mounted on the vehicle's dashboard. Onboard fans were used to keep Heemeyer cool while driving and to blow dust away from the video cameras. Food, water and life support were present in the almost airtight cabin. Heemeyer had no intention of ever leaving the cabin once he entered; the hatch was permanently sealed.

Killdozer was stopped by the failure of a radiator. As soon as Killdozer came to a halt, Heemeyer shot himself dead with a pistol he had brought into the cabin specifically for that purpose. His body was subsequently removed by police with a crane. Despite the great damage to property (13 buildings were destroyed, most requiring hundreds of thousands of dollars to be replaced), no one besides Heemeyer was injured; observers noted that Heemeyer appeared to go out of his way to avoid injury to bystanders.

On April 19, 2005, it was announced that the Killdozer was being taken apart for scrap metal. Individual pieces of Killdozer will be dispersed to many separate scrap yards to prevent admirers of Heemeyer from taking souvenirs. [2]

That was a crazy scene in Black Hawk Down. Such an amazing movie.

My badass nomination is to Joe Simpson. Don't know how many of you have ever seen Touching The Void (no it's not cheap porn) it's a mountain climbing movie about 2 guys that attempt to scale and descend a mountain that noone had been able to conquer, ever. They get UP it with no problem, but they're coming down and all hell breaks loose. Here's a synopsis from Wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touching_The_Void

Although previously attempted, Yates and Simpson were the first people to ascend to the summit of Siula Grande via the almost vertical west face. Disaster struck, however, on the descent. Simpson slipped down an ice cliff and landed awkwardly, smashing his tibia into his knee joint and breaking it. The pair, whose trip had already taken longer than they intended due to bad weather on the ascent, had run out of water and gas (which could have been used to heat ice and snow) and needed to descend quickly to their base camp, about 3,000 feet below.

They proceeded by tying two one hundred and fifty foot long ropes together and then tying themselves to each end. Yates dug himself into a hole in the snow and lowered Simpson down the mountain on the 300 feet of rope. A second disaster struck however when Simpson was lowered over a 100 foot overhanging cliff and left dangling in mid-air. Yates could not see Simpson, but felt all his weight on the rope, very slowly pulling Yates down the mountain. He held on for about an hour but was eventually forced to cut the rope, dropping Simpson into a crevasse.

The next morning Yates descended the mountain alone, and found the cliff. He realised what must have happened to Simpson and to his horror saw the crevasse below. He was certain that Simpson must have died in the crevasse and descended the rest of the mountain alone, itself a very dangerous feat.

In fact, Simpson had survived, despite a 100 foot fall and broken leg. He eventually abseiled from his landing spot on an ice bridge (which broke his fall and therefore presumably saved his life) to the bottom of the crevasse, and crawled out back onto the glacier via a side opening. From there, he spent three days, without food and only splashes of water from melting ice, crawling and hopping five miles back to the base camp. Almost completely delusional, he reached the base camp a few hours before Yates intended to leave the camp to return to civilisation. Yates had burnt Simpson's clothes and many of his other possessions.

Simpson's survival is widely regarded by mountaineers as amongst the most amazing pieces of mountaineering lore in history. Debate raged in the community for several years about whether Yates was right to cut the rope. Simpson, however, continues to maintain that Yates had no other option in the circumstances.

It is a good movie.

A lot of people think that the scene and the "story" that portrays the actions by Gordon and Shughart were embellished to make them look more heroic or like they took down more people. In fact, the scene is very accurate. When those two Delta snipers requested to be inserted they knew that there was a very good chance that they would die. Also, the guy who wrote the book about the Battle of Somalia went to interview some of the Somalis that were on the ground that day. He interviewed one Somali who watched as his armed friends all ran towards the downed helicopter. This Somali went up later and took a look only to see that all of his friends were lying dead on the ground. Gordon and Shughart took out a lot of enemy combatants before they got taken down.
