Cobweb or not?
    #5434843 - 03/23/06 02:55 PM (17 years, 10 months ago)

Yo, there is white fuzz growing all over my cakes and on some of my shrooms. Is it cobweb or is it something else? If it isn't cobweb, does anyone know what it is and if it is anything to worry about? If it is cobweb, can I spray it down with H2O2 to get rid of it. For the first day or so the temperature was pretty hot, ended up bieng like 85-90F inside the tank and very humid, since then we have kept the temperature around 65-70 and been trying to air it out multiple times a day to try and keep the humidity managable.

I have included a couple pictures...One of the fruiting chamber and the cakes inside and one of the cakes most hit with the fuzzy stuff, however all of them are showing signs of it.

All comments and suggestions much appreciated. Gracias!

They seem a bit waterlogged from sitting directly on that wet verm, but it isn't cobweb. It's mycelium. They're fine.

Yeah, sometimes when it's too moist the mycelium will climb right up the shrooms. From now on just set them on the jar lid or a piece of foil.
