Eye colors

Do you think eye color bears reflection on past incarnation or spiritual achievment or inner personality?

Blue and green seem to be the most pleasing and beautiful colors and thusly correspond to the colors of higher intelligence via throat or heart chakra. [just speculating i don't know if i believe it or not]

Yellow (though humans don't have yellow eyes that I've seen) seem to connotate a very very sharp intensely focused energy...... cat eyes for example.

Why are there not purple eyes?

Why are there not purple eyes?

Because there aren't an violet pigments in the human eye

Eye color is determined by genetics and genetics alone (unless you get a wacky disease that causes them to change color).

Yep.

Some people have gray eyes.

That's not from disease, though. It's an intermediate step between blue and brown eyes.

Eye color comes from a pigment, melanin (the same pigment as in skin). Melanin is brown, so if a person has a lot of melanin in their iris it will be brown or almost black. If they have very little melanin they will have blue eyes. All the other colors are varying degrees of expression of the melanin gene - take blue eyes and add some more melanin and you'll have gray eyes.

What I meant to infer was that it doesn't match a chakra color.

I'm not asking about the chemical and genetic reasons...

I'm saying these COLORS have PROPERTIES associated with them....... blue and green are much more dazzling to look at than brown, though all eyes are capable of having great clarity and beauty to them.....

there's just something more "alluring" about those colors.... and I'm saying.............. does it mean something?

And yes race certainly has to do with rebirth (i don't know what you mean by "resurrection" I guess a typo?).... you were born a race weren't you? I was....... not that there's anything good about the different races and certainly the way they are stratified in this world is messed up...... but yes certainly at some point you become who you are, which includes what your body is and what your genes are.

If you're a fat greedy evil sweatshop owner that has contempt for "lesser humans" you probably won't come back as a white guy living a comfortable life next time around, you might become one of the kids in your sweatshop, hence you would not be white anymore.

But I'm talking about eyes in particular. I wish people had purple ones.

It's personal preference, man.

As well try to explain why I like redheads, you know? It's just what you, the individual, finds attractive. There is no set universal law as to why any particular person is attracted to eyes of a certain color...it's just their preference.

Lots of people like brown eyes over blue or green eyes. Haven't you ever heard the song "Brown Eyed Girl"?

Hmm I suppose.

I'm wanting to discuss the characteristics of such colors though. Blues and greens seem to be more "exotic" though not necessarily in european/white cultures, just in the spectrum of things.

That could be because brown eyes outnumber blue/green eyes.

The gene for brown eyes is a dominant gene, so even if you have a blue-eye gene along with your brown-eye gene, you will have brown eyes. The only way to get blue/green/gray eyes is to have NO gene for brown eyes.

Like this (little b is blue, big B is brown):

BB - brown eyes
Bb - brown eyes
bb - blue eyes (or green/gray)

As you can see 2/3 of the possible combinations result in brown eyes, and only 1/3 of the combinations result in blue/green/gray eyes. That translates into rougly twice as many brown-eyed people as blue-eyed.

Could that be why you see the lighter colors as "exotic"? Just because they are that much less common?

My eyes will change from green and yellow to a blueish tint.

Strange, but I have not seen your eyes.

My eyes change through shades of blue/green/gray. It depends a LOT on what color clothes you have on, because the color of your clothes gives contrast to your eye color.

Your eye color can also change slightly due to health, time of day, what you eat, ect. You'll never see someone's eyes change from a light color to a dark color...but it can change shades among the color group it already has (ie: brown to dark brown/black, or blue to green/gray).

Alright, so then maybe I'll play along..
I have green eyes, but my right eye has a large (about a 1/4 of my eye) brown spot. What would this mean in terms of your idea?

Yes that is what I'm saying. It's all relative. If everyone's eyes were green and blue and only a few people had brown ones the brown would be the more interesting color.

It's all about rarity/commodity. But as this world is set up I find greens and blues to be more stimulating colors.... they seem to be valued in terms of spirituality and clarity [as colors themselves] whereas browns seem to be more earthly and or animal.

I mean people have a symbolic significance resembling archetypes that I can't quite just grasp but have a notion of. The blonde haired blue eyed person seems serene, angelic. Red hair is more ..... exuberant.... energetic. Brown is more earthly and casual. Black kind of evokes a passionate aloofness ..... or something like that.

You know what I mean? All people could be seen as random collections of various archetypes.

A tall muscular man with a cut chin would look a little odd if he were an albino, but he would look like a "warrior" if he had somewhat dark hair and browner eyes.

Don't think I'm hating on brown eyes though.
