pastuerizing horse poo question
    #5434099 - 03/23/06 11:34 AM (17 years, 10 months ago)

Ok, so I have some horse poo in a mycobag, and I need to pasteurize it...

I put it in a pot with water that is at 170 degrees. Now do I leave it in there until the center hits 170 then immediately pull it out? or do I wait two hours after the center hits 170?

Leave it in after the center hits 170.

Nope, but i just plan on using a rubber bad at the top so that steam can escape...
I know you're the poo expert here it seems, agar
Have any tips?
If I had a pot of water at 170, how long from start to finish would you recommend to keep the bag in the water for it to be 100% pastuerized?

I would go at the 155 to 165f range (once internal temp is reached) for 2 hours.
