Shroomy taking a nose dive

Well my cakes are looking pretty good. 4 of 10 cakes have pins. A couple of those got some fat ones growing real fast. One cluster has two that are growing opposite directions. One's going up and the other... well the other is about to face plant right into th perlite. I know this can't be good. I have the cakes siting on foil so I thought maybe the light was reflecting off the foil and signaling the mushy to grow downward. I decided the curl back the foil the other day but the shroom is still persisting to grow downward. Should I put something under the shroom's point of impact so if it does touch, it'll only curve up?

If it touches it wont harm anything. Keep on keeping on.

I guess you coudl put down some plastic wrap or whatever so that it doesn't get any perlite stuck in the cap. It's a little crunchy.

I had the exact same thing happen! It ended up face planting right into the perlite, and it got kind of deformed because of it. However it ended up working just fine. Don't fret!

The title says "shroomy", not "shroomery".
And a few of my past mushies did the same thing, they will turn up when the cap is getting read to open. No worries!
