i was reading snag's led tek and got to thinking about the whole blue lite thing. i wonder if anyone has tried the actinic blue flourescent lights sold in the marine fish stores? i had a saltwater fishtank and grew coral. the coral required extremely bright light in the blue spectrum provided by high output metal halide or florescent light.
they make these bulbs also in a standard output flourecent bulb as well. just wondered if anyone has tried one of these.

i have a reef tank setup as well...so i have a lot of actinic blue florus around here..i just go with a regular florus..cool white i belive and i get decent pinsets...roger rabbit says that florus are perferct..i wouldnt waste your time with the actinics. sometimes simple is best IMO
