good books

I am hoping that one or more of you might be able to offer me a tip on a book and kind of quickly. I know that the site probably has a great bibliography, but since I'm in kind of a pinch, maybe you could suggest something that would give me the exact info I'm looking for.

Short version; I need basic, but not dumbed-down info on mushroom biology (what mycelium is, what is does, how hyphael knots form, what the vascular structure of the mushroom is) from a citable source, preferably not a webpage. I'd prefer something without the word "psilocybin" in the title, but if that's what there is, I can roll with it. I recall Stamets' _Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms_ as having such info, but a friend lost my copy years ago and the library copy is checked-out.

Long story (only because this could interest some of you): I'm writing on Freud's _Interpretation of Dreams_, focusing on this really interesting passage in Ch. 7. I'll just reproduce it here, after thanking you for your help. Best, Me_Roy.

"There is often a passage in even the most thoroughly interpreted dream which has to be left obscure; this is because we become aware during the work of interpretation that at that point there is a tangle of dream-thoughts which cannot be unravelled and which moreover adds nothing to our knowledge of the content of the dream. This is the dream's navel, the spot where it reaches down into the unknown. The dream-thoughts to which we are led by interpretation cannot, from the nature of things, have any definite endings; they are bound to branch out in every direction into the intricate network of our world of thought. It is at some point where this meshwork is particularly close that the dream-wish grows-up, like a mushroom out of its mycelium."

Sigmund Freud, _The Interpretation of Dreams_, trans. James Strachey (New York: Avon Books, 1998), 564.
