Not too steal the thread but how much perlite should be put in a FC to get the right RH for a casing (around 75%, right?)

uhh...he meant 75% humidity
-------------------- Under his instruction, I taped drumsticks to his head and turned him into a sort of mummy, or perhaps a caterpiller in a cocoon. He remains this way for about three hours, making bizarre noises, pretending to be a new species that must learn to walk and talk and eat, etc. And he communicates with other life forms by way of the antennae on his head. Eventually we jam a tube from a waterbong into it's mouth and figure he's learned all he needs to know.

Perlite humidification works great for casings along with fannings and mistings of course. 75% is too low guys work with your casings not against them! 85-92% is optimum for casings over the long haul (consistantly).
-------------------- Getting the most out of your casings!, A pinning strategy. Oyster Shell "Flour" $2 for 1lb. a hell of a deal Not what is overlay but rather what overlay is Gas Exchange vs. FAE "We all have priorities. I used a closet once setup a nice little lab trouble was all the shit that was in there ended up in the bedroom that pissed off the GF then I ended up dumping her as she was getting in the way of my sterile culture technique! Ya I got priorities too!!!"

OK another question, what can a fruiting chamber do that an incubator cant? Keep RH? Is the TIT the only method that can serve as both?

anything can be a fruiting chamber. As long as light comes in the top and its air tight. If you have some cash to spend you can get a greenhouse with automated humidity and fresh air. You can grow inside of a two liter if you're really desperate.
