Is there any reason a field full of patties would not produce shrooms under the right conditions?

I just found a field like an hour ago that has cows and patties as far as the eye can see. I saw quite a few patties turned over on the beaten path though. They were realy old and I dont think anyone has been there in a while. I found MANY unmolested patties out wherre the mesquite is though; guess they didn't like the thorns.
Anyway, my question is this: is there any reason that this field would not produce mushrooms under the right circumstnces? I only ask this because it rained some a few days ago and I didn't se any signs of shrooms growing, dried up, or otherwise. The weather has been really dry though since the day after the rain. Low dewpoint.

Well if the circumstances were right, then they would make mushrooms. Hopefully there's tons of cubie spores floating around that field

That brings up a good point. Why wouldn't there be millions of cube spores floating around, seeing as how they are so prevalent here in the gulf coast area...

Its just another reason its called Hunting and not finding... Cubes donut just grow from every patty and in allot of cases Cubes will not be found in entire fields. ...Peace

fatts, mushroom hunting is an art.
i often say this, "you have to be in the right place and at the right time" to find the shrooms you seek.
typically (if you are hunting for Psilocybe cubensis) the right place is a cow field. Sometimes you have to look through several fields before you find a "sweet spot".
and typically the right time is the rainy season (summer).
so its not really the right time of year to be hunting right now.
once you finally stumble upon the shrooms you seek, its amazing how quickly the shrooms will teach you where and how to look for them. thats right, the shrooms will teach you how to find them.
hunting with large groups of people is especially interesting. it is like following the path of the golden teacher. when in the field with a group someone can shout out "found some!", then you walk towards that person, and keep following the path of the shrooms, staying on path. if you are off the path then you follow peoples voices coming out of the forest and get back on the pathway to the shrooms.
so good luck man, GG

No spores no mushrooms no matter the amount of cow turd! I seen fields of cow turd with no psilocybe in them. But there is always lots of shrooms just not the right ones! It's a great place to look. Good luck!

Thanks for all of the tips guys. I was wondering if maybe someone got there before me, but probably not. I read a few posts here in this forum of some guys here in Texas who have already scored cubes earlier this year. But I guess the weather is just not right yet. Its cold and dry no matter how much rain we have had in the past few days.
Hey one of those guys was you Yessup!! Good job on the haul man. That was last month on the 20th. I guess you guys had warm humid weather then huh..
Its been pretty dry here with almost no rain..
