I have been fooling with lucid dreams for a year or two now and i find this technique worked the first time i tried it last night! its called Wake then back to bed or WTBTB. you combine it with the rest of your lucid dream practices such as reality checks, dream recall, and the "i am in a dream" ideation that you take during the waking hours.
1. go to sleep for at least 5-7 hours 2. set your alarm clock to wake you up 2 hours earlier than usual. 3. after you wake up spend 30 minutes to an hour reading about lucid dreams and doing reality checks. 4. go back to bed and do WILD or MILD techniques, form the intention to go lucid, and concentrate on your awareness until you are asleep.
this is the first time i ever became completely aware of falling alseep and sliping into the dream world, it was amazing, but shortlived. a hypnogagic image popped in my head of a thermos(WTF??) and i recognized that i was no longer in the waking state and somehow this led to a direct transition into a dream: i suddenly appeared in my grandma's house with full awareness that i was dreaming instantly. i got too excited though and tried to transmute the first thing i saw, my grandma's dog LOL, but i just ended up losing the dream, it faded into darkness and i went into deep sleep. i will be trying this again tonight.

Nice, I had a lucid dream that I was in a ghetto apartment with a white cat and a small child. I wasn't sure what to do so I meowed at the cat. It was terrifying, the cats eyes turned to green fire, it hissed the most evil hiss and the kid starts to go into some sort of seiszure. Then it was over. It freaked me out, all my other lucid dreams have been positive. Just be careful with what you mess with in dreams. You don't want to make enemies on the other side!

When I ws younger this used to happen to me all the time.
I found as long as you keep in the theme of the dream (don't try and change anything too radically) I could keep it going for ages.
Although, I often just cloed my eyes (in the dream ) and imagined being somewhere and usually I could 'teleport' there.

i frequently have lucid dreams, especially when i fall back asleep after having woken up too early in the morning. i understand exactly what you mean about feeling yourself going into the dream state. often i can still feel my waking eyes while in a dream state. i can even feel the REM sometimes. whats especially disconcerting is if im having a really bad dream that i cant seem to control, i want to open my eyes, and i try to, but i cant. this is because im trying to open what i think are my real eyes, but the dream is causing the illusion that they are my real eyes. as a result, i cant open my dream eyes, but it feels as though i cant open my real eyes.
kinda hard to understand, but its cool and interesting. i love lucid dreams!
