Help: Fuzz! (pic)

Help! I've got fuzz growing on my recently birthed cube cake. I'm attempting to grow good ol' PF style, but I can't get my cake to pin at all. It's been about six days since I birthed it from the jar. Am I to understand that the fuzz is an indicator of high humidity? Or is it possibly a contam? I have even cold shocked it--twice. All I want are some pins--not too many--I'm not greedy. Please, wise sages of shroom cultivation, help me!

Looks like it's about to start pinning.
Fuzz is common -- It's a good thing!

how long did you wait before you birthed that jar? it looks like it needed more time to colonize imo

I was wondering about that, it probably would have been best to let it completely colonize before birthing it, I'd have to think....
From what I've been reading, its best to wait a couple more days after the surface is completely colonized, in order to let it colonize the rest of the jar, before birthing it...
 Peace.

I thought this thread was about police problems...
Doesn't look like a contam but because it's not totally white it's pretty vulnerable to contams. careful and good luck! In the words of the old timers here, patience=k3y

You need to leave it alone! Pinning takes over two weeks sometimes. Cold shocking twice did way more bad than good. Patience is extremely important. Just let it sit and be happy for a few days, it knows what to do.

What is your fruiting chamber like? Temperature, humidity?
 Peace.

Yes, I know, I am an ass. An unpatiencent ass. Truth be known, I birthed this cake early out of excitement. I cut off the uncolonized portions of the cake and put in a bucket on top a couple of sponges and some verm. Temp is room temp. I can easily maintain high humidity and do, but have cut back on it thinking that the fuzz is an indicator of the humidity being too high. Thank you everyone for your very thoughtful help and reassurance.
Another question. I have covered my bucket with a "Saran Quick Cover". The cover is perfect for easy sealing and access to my bucket. But, the cover is tinted blue. Could this mean that my cake isn't getting exposed to the proper spectrum of light to induce pinning??

With cakes you can't get the humidity too high, crank it up. And yes the shrooms are responsive to blue light.
