So what's next?

I know I know what you're going to say, never buy a grow kit but I did. I went to mycoshack and got some jars along with the setup and everything, got my spores and now I'm ready to get started.

I understand I have to sanitize my hands and my arms and the bathroom I'm working in and inject the jars with the syringe but what's all this about a pressure cooker? When does this take place? Also, how can I better control my temperature if I'm growing in a colder room?

If I'm already fucking something up let me know, I'm trying my hardest to avoid trashing this project from the get go.

When purchasing presterilized jars from a vendor you wont need a pressure cooker (PC). PC's are used to sterilize your substrate before inoculation, as well as sterilize almost everything you need to be clean in this hobby.

If you want to get serious in this hobby a pressure cooker should be first on your list of things to buy. Presterilized jars get expensive after a while. For the money you spend on them you can make tons more then you bought.

i wouldnt worry about the fruiting temps, its the incuabtion temps you need to keep high, around 80-86 is good. I dont know if your kit has an incubator or not, if not just stick the jars someplace warm, by a heater vent is good, or make a TiT (  ) they are easy to make and work wonders. The jars should turn completely white in a few weeks, then you can birth then dunk and roll (always a good idea) then put them into your fruiting chamber.

try not too peek at your jars too often, only to make shure the temp is corrrect. Most fungis grows more during the dark period than in the light
