Vermiculite/BRF packing or no packing?
    #5427936 - 03/21/06 10:35 PM (17 years, 10 months ago)

I've read to fill the jars 1/2" from the top w/o packing it down ("It should stay very airy and loose to provide optimum conditions for the growth of mycelium.") and I?ve read to fill the jars to the top, then tap the bottom of the jar on a firm surface, and it will pack down to 1/2" below the rim.
Conflicting reports, what do you guys recommend?

Leave it airy. Much better for the myc to "breathe".
