if i were to have premade jars with unpunctured lids, would it be possible (more so safe than possible i guess) to replace the lid with sterile tin foil and screw on the ring then inject through the foil and cover the holes? contams worry me but ive read teks that say if your careful you can inject through the top layer of verm without any lid at all. any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

For the PF tek the dry vermiculite layer serves that very purpose, if you are worried about contams after you inoculate cover the tops of the jars with 2 coffee filters and a rubber band,
thease are poo cakes that is why they are black same setup as pf tek

premade jars with unpunctured lids?? are you talking about jars that are full of substrate and sterile? Id use tyvek instead of tin foil with just the ring, but yeah, you can do that.

A though (manifesting itself as a Q) would be, why were PJars prepared w/o holes in the lids?

the jars were made like this for long term storage (not long term just not immeadiate use) i've had them for about 5-6 months and they still look great no drying or anything. thanks for info, it has helped.
