I've been reading threw the liquid culture faqs and they all use spore syringes to inoculate the jars. My question is, can you get mycelium to grow in a LC by taking some already existing mycelium and putting it in the liquid?

Yes, as well as tissue from a mushroom. As long as the culture is clean and your transfer is sterile, it should work.

i am in the process of doing that right now. i have 3 jars and i put a small piece of mycellium in each. as of right now, it seems the mycellium is growing outward from the pieces.
