Enjoyable scents and tripping...

Has anyone ever tried smelling scents that bring on certain feelings of the past while tripping? I've tripped in a room with incense burning, but I'm thinking more along the lines of specific scents that always bring you to a certain place when you smell them (tripping or not).
Last shroom trip towards the peak I put my nose up to a coconut scented candle and breathed deeply in... I was in paradise in seconds

It amazing how that works. There is a sent in my bathroom that really does it for me because of the fact that it used to be around when I lived with my parents when I was 20 years old, and I tripped often enough to have fused that smell into my memory.
To me nothing will ever compare to nag champa. A very populare incense made in india.

Lavender brings me right back to my childhood as well, as I used to sleep with some under my pillow .
However I've yet to trip with good lavender scent around, and would imagine along with mushrooms it could bring me right back into my most carefree adolescent years

having a set up of good smells before a trip seems like a good way to induce a great trip!

I'd like to test pleasant scents and their effects on bad trips.
I'm very much inclined to believe that certain scents may have the ability to bring your mind out of a negative thought loop and back into a world of bliss

"scent is the strongest sense tied to memory" is a quote from some commercial or something. scent is something science hasnt exactly pinned down yet, and it seems to invoke the strongest feelings of nostalgia.
certain scents remind me of hanging out at my friends' house when i was like 6 years old. its amazing how i cant remember waht the place looked like, but i can remember exactly how it smelled.

a lot of aromatic compounds have pleasant smells (hence the name), also esters, organic acids, etc. have odors (not all pleasant though... butanoic acid- odor of rancid butter, caproic acid- smells like dirty socks and locker rooms, you won't soon forget taking a whiff of that out of a vial )
something interesting to try while tripping would be to get little vials or these compounds, they say scent is strongly tied to memory, so it might be interesting to try it while tripping.
