need some feed back on my new fc

hello all. i finally got a digital camera. (not too great but it will do). i have made me a new fc kinda like the double tub i saw on the site not to long ago.
please take a look and give me some feed back.
i hooked a coolmist to the top of the chamber and mounted a thermometer/ hygrometer on the upper top left. (its the black thing)
i have to wait for the silicone to finish drying. then i'll give it a dry run to get an idea of temp and humidity control issues that may need work. but i was happy to get it done while the forum was down.
any commenta are always appreciated. thanks lost

i went to dollar general and bought two sterilite containers. one about twice as tall as the other. they came with a blue lid that clamps on the sides.
i took the clamps off of the lids and inverted the tall one, drilled the hole and stuffed with polly fill. the small one i took and covered in electrical tape to block the lite. its about 5 or 6 inches tall. perfect to set a substrate in and let it colonize. then when ready i can just slap the top on it, clamp it down and turn on the cool mist , lite, and heat till ready to harvest.
the thermometer/hydrometer was bought at a local hardware store. i just glued it to the top so i dont have to worry about contams when i check the temp/humidity levels.

just one thought, why do you need heat for fruiting? Fruiting temps are in the low 70's thats the temp I keep my house at....

just remember you only need a couple degrees of warmth then, I prefer my fruiting trays to be at 71 degrees.

im confused by this. the double tub is made to control the humidity on its own.

gas exchange is what the polyfill holes are for. the doubletub is a completely automated setup without whatever you did to it. not sure if there is any advantage to that..

you gotta tell me where u got that bin though. thats freaken awesome. opaque bottom and a clear top. You can cover up and incubate the bottom half. then when its time to fruit it you just snap the top on. I want one! better than balancing and taping 2 retarded bins on top of each other.

ha, nevermind :P ima have to go look for some of those. might even be a good idea to make the bottom holes at the very top of the bottom container for the spawn run, since you still need some gas exchange.

the small tub looks just like it but shorter.

I want your fc that is sick as hell. Just a sugestion and I could be wrong but I think there is a setup that you can put your cool mist into a air claner thing thus makeing your humidifyer blow in clean air and mostur at the same time unless I had read wrong or am reemembering wrong.
Then with a hpoo grow you could get so manny flushes that I cannot even imagine

I'm still wondering if the cool mist is gonna help any. would be nice if you could run a regular next to it for a comparison.
I think your biggest enemy is gonna be too much moisture. those dt's keep it in pretty good. its gonna be different when you have a moist substrate inside, thats how the DT generates its humidity.

The whole point of the DT, is so that you leave it undisturbed..Aug7 said that when he created it...
Why have a coolmist? Not really any need...I guess it'd help for cakes those, considering that they need 95+Rh...hm.
Well, gl!

i was thinking of that. and my only concern was if the substrate is smaller than the bottom. for example cakes. as you mentioned. you could incubate them and fruit them there right.
but my biggest concern was not to disturb it just as you say. so if the the cmist isnt needed then i simply wont use it.
this is good shit folks. a newb needs to hear these things. hopefully it will lead to very successful grows.

does anyone think that maintaining high humidity levels will be a problem considering the total height above the substrait? the bottom tub is about 5 or 6 inches tall and will hold sub and casing. the top is about 1 foot tall.
also, should i put holes in the bottom tray with polly fill too?
any thoughts?

not after you already put holes in for the bottom. i was talking about if you had a fresh start on a new FC, you could move them lower.

If you can keep the humidity high enough their is nothing wrong with using the CM for FAE. Yes the DT was designed to avoid using anything else but that doesn't mean you can't experiment with it! Nothing wrong with a little more FAE as long as it doesn't drop your rH too much. I would just run it a few minutes every couple of hours.
