they are the same clamps that were on the blue lids. i just took them off and put them back on. the have grooves that catch on the lip of the tub.

I want your fc that is sick as hell. Just a sugestion and I could be wrong but I think there is a setup that you can put your cool mist into a air claner thing thus makeing your humidifyer blow in clean air and mostur at the same time unless I had read wrong or am reemembering wrong.
Then with a hpoo grow you could get so manny flushes that I cannot even imagine

I'm still wondering if the cool mist is gonna help any. would be nice if you could run a regular next to it for a comparison.
I think your biggest enemy is gonna be too much moisture. those dt's keep it in pretty good. its gonna be different when you have a moist substrate inside, thats how the DT generates its humidity.

The whole point of the DT, is so that you leave it undisturbed..Aug7 said that when he created it...
Why have a coolmist? Not really any need...I guess it'd help for cakes those, considering that they need 95+Rh...hm.
Well, gl!

i was thinking of that. and my only concern was if the substrate is smaller than the bottom. for example cakes. as you mentioned. you could incubate them and fruit them there right.
but my biggest concern was not to disturb it just as you say. so if the the cmist isnt needed then i simply wont use it.
this is good shit folks. a newb needs to hear these things. hopefully it will lead to very successful grows.

does anyone think that maintaining high humidity levels will be a problem considering the total height above the substrait? the bottom tub is about 5 or 6 inches tall and will hold sub and casing. the top is about 1 foot tall.
also, should i put holes in the bottom tray with polly fill too?
any thoughts?

not after you already put holes in for the bottom. i was talking about if you had a fresh start on a new FC, you could move them lower.

If you can keep the humidity high enough their is nothing wrong with using the CM for FAE. Yes the DT was designed to avoid using anything else but that doesn't mean you can't experiment with it! Nothing wrong with a little more FAE as long as it doesn't drop your rH too much. I would just run it a few minutes every couple of hours.
