anyone with cannabis cooking know how

ive recently become quite interested in the idea of cooking with cannabis. the only way ive ever had cannabis is by smoking but im told the effects are much different when it is eaten. i want to try this out and after doing some research ive found that the most efficent way to ingest is by simmering the cannabis in a fat, such as milk or butter, at med to low temp for around 20-30 mins. i have a problem though. i cant make bud butter for fear of being found out/creating a stink of bud. so heres my question, i made some chili today that has beef and some other fatty things in it. if i simmered some finely ground bud in with the chili and some sour cream (to add fat and flavor) would it work? if not can somebody suggest a different method where you can get the cannabinoids out without creating a stink? thanks ya'll

First off, there are many threads about cooking with cannabis, please use the search function before you create a new thread.

To directly answer your question, it might work, but not as well as properly making cannabutter and then using that in your cooking. While the THC might be extracted in the chili, you can't guarantee anything and you would probably have to use a large amount of cannabis.

The key here is to make good cannabutter to begin with, because that will ensure a good cannabis experience. Believe me, if you make it properly, you won't regret taking the extra time and effort.

As for the smell issue, my only suggestion is to try to wait until you can have the house to yourself because IT WILL SMELL. Having lots of ventilation and keeping a lid on the simmering bud will help, but nothing is fool proof.

EDIT: Now if you make a nice cannabutter and THEN add it to a bowl of chili, that could be quite a tasty treat.:grin: But what I took from your post is that you are mostly worried about being caught and not with properly preparing cannabis food, so in that regard I can't help ya.
