2001: A Space Odyssey @ the Zigfield Theater (NYC)

This Wednesday they are playing 2001: A Space Odyssey @ the Zigfield Theater.
Movie times are 4:30 pm and 8:15 pm I'll probably see both showings considering it might not be back in theaters again for quite some time.
All I know is 2001 is the greatest movie ever made and I have 8 hits of acid left.
Anyone else going?!

That sounds pretty fun. I wish they would show it around me, specifically Id love to see an IMAX version. Seeing that on acid would either be really cool, or really boring. I mean, youd either be really into the movie, or more interested in the walls and just want to leave.

Take an ipod and listen to echoes during the last chapter of the movie. It's awesome.

The movie is too good to mess around with Echos.

Haha, if you say so....that song fits beautifully with the end of that movie though....It's quite magical, expecially on LSD.

It takes away from the experience, imo.
I don't understand what an albatross or coral caves have to do with it, but to each his own.
plus the song is too jazzy for something that epic.

It's not just the lyrics, it's the music altogether.....It's just pretty cool...I've got the video of the end chapter of 2001 already synched with echoes. You don't sound like you care, but if you want I'll be nice enough and upload it.
No problem either way. To each his own.

Sorry, I kinda sounded like a dick. I'm pretty defensive about 2001. I synced up Echos w/ 2001 on mushrooms once and it threw me off.

Do you use bit torrent? It's probably faster than waiting for me to upload 250 mb at 40 k/sec.
If so you can download it Here.

Just ordered my tickets. One for me and one for a friend who might not come. If she doesn't come, I'm gonna wander the streets coming up on acid looking for someone who wants to just take the extra ticket for free.

What showing did you get the tickets for?
My friends are coming to the 4:30 showing but no one else wants to see it twice with me. I probably will force my girlfriend to come to the 8:15 showing.
Unfortunately I have a midterm on Thursday, so that counts me out for acid.

I work until 4:30 so I am going to the 8:15 showing. I plan on dropping a tab at 7 and wandering up to the theater on foot with my headphones on.

The book actually came AFTER the movie...so you should really see the movie.
Arthur C. Clarke and Kubrick were good friends and brainstormed the story together.

It's the single nicest theater in NYC, I thought that you knew that and that was part of why you were so excited.
You know when a new big dorky movie like LotR or Star Wars is released, and people line up to see it? The biggest longest line is always at the Ziegfeld. BEcause it's gorgeous.

I haven't hit the Pub in months, so I guess it was meant to be! I'll be there tomorrow. I'm not sure which show: one would require leaving class early, the other cancelling a meeting, but I've been dying to see this in a theater so I'll get there somehow! I haven't actually seen the entire film end-to-end in one sitting yet. Not due to patience, just circumstances. See you there!

The Ziegfeld is on 54th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues.
Walk 5 blocks north to 59th Street and you hit Central Park.

I'm really confused whenever people complain about the weather and tripping. I mean yeah a nice day is nice but of my 20-something acid journeys half or more have been in cold weather and it's never bothered me one bit.

I'm gonna walk from my apartment on the Lower East Side to the theater. That's about a 70 block walk. Then I'm going to grab a huge bottle of water and collapse into a seat in the theater after puffing a J outside.

Like I've said before...I have a job. And a job is much harder to cut out of then school..much less worth it, too.
If I had known it had played on Sunday, I would have gone then instead.

Man, none of my friends want to drop with me tommorow morning. I don't know if I should do it alone, being only my second time using lsd.

Not only should you drop it, you should also learn to fly, so you can fly past your friends and be like, 'how do you like me now brock?'

Yeh that's a touchy situation. I'm going with a friend who doesn't feel like dropping but doesn't mind beign around me while I do. This will be like my 25th acid trip or something. I can't wait! I was gonna drop a half tab of uber potent white unperfed but I am now decided upon eating a whole one.

Damn! I'd trade my hit of acid for some mush in a second. I'd go anywhere on mushrooms, I just don't have that connection to acid yet.
Plus now two of my buddies backed out. So I'd end up dropping alone around 9-10a.m. and having to wait in the city till 4:30p.m. to meet up with my girlfriend and one of her friends. Then I'd probably have to take her home and come back for the 8:15 show and meet two of my other friends.
Fuck Mid-terms!
