After a few weeks of research, discussion, and a few trips, I have decided to go to Loyola in Chicago for college. But the truth is, im a little weary about living in such a big city.
Currently I live in a suburb about 45 minutes from Detroit. Its all rich white people, so Im happy that the city is going to break me out of the bubble ive been living in for my highschool years.
My main reason for posting is I just want to find out more about the city, and maybe make some new friends. While visiting the campus and Navy Pier, I was wondering, have any of you ever used any drugs there? There were so many things that would be great while tripping, like the stain glass museum.

Chicago is my favorite city in the US. NYC is great but too expensive. San Francisco is great but too expensive. Southern California just lame. The South sucks and everywhere in between is too boring and requires driving.
plenty of music and art in chicago. lots of bars and clubs. no need for a car or driving. lots of culture. great food. cool neighborhoods. great people - not snobs and dicks like in LA or NYC or fake like in the South (southern hospitality is just fake). Very level-headed and sincere.
chicago is a working city - lots of people commute and walk to work.
if you want to get a taste of the real chicago, avoid tourist traps like navy pier. there are cooler places to visit.
chicago isnt cold if you dress correctly.

I've been living in Chicago for the past 4 years.
In my opinion it's the 3rd best city in the US, with 1 and 2 being New York and SF, respectively.
I grew up in a suburb of NYC, and Chicago often seems tiny by comparison. People in the city also seem to go to bed a little bit earlier than I'd like. Not the bars and clubs, mind you, you can find after-hours places open till 8am (from the night before), but in terms of services and such.
Anyway, I really like it (again, not as much as NYC or SF, but sometimes I think it's not fair to compare with those two), and it's a great place to live.

Ill be at Loyola university, which i think is a little north of the main downtown area, where lakeshore drive ends, right on the water. But theres a CTA stop right on campus, so id be in downtown in no time.

LSD ends pretty much up in evanstan or just before evanstan, but I know what you mean - I know where loyola is. you can be down in the loop via the el from anywhere in the city in no time.

How easy is it to get drugs around chicago, specifically acid. I know that it seems to be really rare in some areas, but prominent in others. Im not asking for like a dealers name and phone number, just whats the general availability.

I'm a student at the UofC, so I'm down in Hyde Park.
I'd love to live in Bucktown though. I've often thought about moving there (the rent differential was less than I thought), but I know I'd never end up going to class.

I'm from Chicago, but I'm going to school up in Wisconsin at the moment.
IMHO, Chicago is the greatest city in the world. Hands down. But I'm biased. Loyola is aweseome. I have some good friends who live on Winthrop Ave, right by Loyola, and its a pretty cool neighborhood. Good mix of nice and naughty, if your into that type of thing.
