recommend some movies with awesome Cinematography. Requim for a dream, (awesome move, but leaves me unsettled afterwards) The cell; American beauty; Jarhead. (even tho the movie was mediocre, the cinematography was excellent)
etc..

any movie by M. Knight Shyamalan has EXCELLENT cinematography...
Kill Bill has some nice cinematography as well... especially in vol. one where the camera follows everyone around in that club where the 3 chinese girls are playing and everybody is dancing...

I really find that some of the older classic movies impress me much more then the newer stuff. They didn't rely as much on special effects or camera tricks in those days, they just concentrated on capturing magnificent images on film.
Examples: The Sound of Music Gone With The Wind The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Psycho
Theres a good reason that films like these are considered classics!

Oh, and I almost forgot about 'Metropolis'. That movie was at least a half-century ahead of its time! In case you are not familiar, it is an old black-n-white silent film done in 1927 that is one of the most stunning sci-fi films ever made, even to this day.

Anything by John Toll.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001799/
Braveheart, Thin Red Line, Last Samurai are all beautiful movies.

OMG Rushmore was amazing more so with its story line and cast then for its cinematography... Another one that has some good cinematography along with a great cast and plenty of dark humour, "Snatch" by Guy Ritchie. I believe shroomerites would love this film.. get back to me and tell me what you think about it

Once Upon the Time in the West would be my main pick, same director as the Good the Bad and the Ugly but I think its a better film. Lawrence of Arabia is another one to check out for sure, its a long film but worth it. Breathless by Jean-Luc Godard has some good cinemotography, innovative for its time. Also check out La Jetee (the inspiration for 12 monkeys) and some Kurosawa films like Seven Samurai, Yojimbo and Rashomon. Those won't let you down.
