Oh, and hi, first post and all that.
Does anyone know how quat sanitizers treat mushrooms? For example, Ecolab's MikroKlene. I have access to essentially unlimited quantities of it (within reason, with care) at work, and I'm wondering about using it for all my sterilization. But I can't find any reference to how it will affect the mushrooms if it comes in contact with them (easily avoided if it is harmful...)

Lysol or 70% rubbing alc. would be the most widly used method. Lysol for hands/gloves/spraying in the room air, and alc. for casing trays/pans because it evaporates quick and leaves nothing to harm the myc. I wouldn't mess with it if I were you.

"Does anyone know how quat sanitizers treat mushrooms?"
Quats are low level disinfectants, you don't want a lot of shroom exposure to quats, but they make a decent surface disinfectant with ten minute or so contact time.
"For example, Ecolab's MikroKlene."
Ecolab's MikroKlene is not a quat, it's a iodophor (tincture of iodine) in a very acidic solution. It is also a low level disinfectant when applied to surfaces, but can be a medium level disinfectant when instruments are soaked for 60 seconds. It's not a good idea to expose shrooms to this compound, either, but it doesn't require rinsing, you only need to drain off standing liquid.
Don't mix disinfectants unless you really understand possible chemical reactions, but it is a good idea to use more than one type of disinfectant, one after the other. Alcohol is great for most microbes, except high temp viruses and spores. Peroxides and UV lights are much better at spores. Short of absolute sterilization, a multiple attack of different categories of disinfectants is the most effective approach. [It's rather difficult to fit countertops into an autoclave.]
PS [Edit:] Oh, yeah, I forgot this was your first post. Welcome, welcome, welcome. I'm fairly new myself, but I think you may find this place comfortable, helpful, and homey. Our egos may get in the way, sometimes, but our hearts are always in the right place.
