Did you eat, dehydrate, donate, or end up wasting some? In these my first few years of hunting I ended up collecting more than I could handle during that wonderful Fall Explosion we have here in the Northeast. I was wondering what other peeps do.

What great pics, I have had chickens and hens for the last 2 years, and they are unfucking believable. I could not have guessed that they actually do taste like chicken. especially after they cool down when sauteed. How does one preserve them, because I found quite a stash last year.

Hen of the woods is really good canned. I don't know about the Chickens though. It doesn't seem they would dry very well. I wounder how well they would freeze. It's not uncommon to find a fallen Oak with 100 pounds of chicken mushrooms.

This log makes a massive flush on booth sides every year, but I have never collected more than a few pounds.

Sauteed chicken of the woods freezes really well, it doesn't lose any flavor or texture when thawed.
