Also, as for your brothers transmission HAPPENING to go on Sunday when you borrowed it Tuesday - I'd tell him to go fuck himself.
You don't owe him shit for a transmission that was already dying. If he says you do, tell him to PROVE you broke it, and then go from there.
As for your aunt - Sorry if this sounds awful, but if my aunt did that to me, I would have her in court immeidately. I don't care if it family or not, she stole thousands of dollars from you, and has given none of it back.

Do Canadians get tax refunds at all? I got a pretty nice one this year that helped me out a lot. Are you getting one at all?

the tranny thing sounds like bullshit. not drving a car in overdrive isnt going to bust a tranny. i used to drive my camaro in regular drive only and i had that thing for a few years...never once did i blow a tranny. as for what u owe on your current car... try finding something inexpensive at a dealership, trading your vehicle in and taking a little negative equity on a new ride. a few thousand in negative is only going to affect your payment by maybe $30 a month. also before you by a car have a mechanic that u trust look it over. look for something basic, late model and with low mileage..maybe even with some of the factory warranty balance on it.

Wow, I hate stories like this, I can relate to them so well and it fills me with a lot of sympathy. Ive been in and seen many similar situations to know that usually the best idea to start any kind of change is by attempting to solve, or at least inhibit some of these problems. Lets start off with the car issue. As it has been said before-your brother seems to be clearly in the wrong about this one on the transmission- My personal advice would be to find someone who knows a little something about cars (clearly not a mechanic as they cost $$$) who can mention to him that hes being a retard by assuming it was your short time use that messed with his car. Secondly as for YOUR car. 2 years ago my brother went through hell with his car which he bought slightly used, and fell to bits within the first year, it took him the remained of the year to pay off the car that he couldnt even drive by the end. On this situation Ide say literally ripping off the insurance company is your best solution, even if its simply finding out what your policy covers and leaving it in a shitty neighbourhood.Use the insurance money to finish paying the debt. Theres no point in paying full price for a machine thats broken anyway.
As for the situation with your family, well theres really very little you can do about that other than shunning them all, and reminding them each and every day about how fucking pathetic they are for taking money from and refusing to help a family member . Good Luck my friend, Good Karma to ya.

Damn, when I went to Canada in '00, I got I think $1.50 - $1.60 CAD for every $1.00 USD.
Thats the trap of today. You need stuff to get a job to make money, but you need the money first to get the stuff, or you wont get a job, which will give you money.
Hey, at least you are at the SHROOMERY. You can figure something out. A couple double tubs and your debt is BYE BYE.
Get creative. You could probably auction off locks of your hair as well to all the cyber shrooming weirdos here.

I can relate Gillette...I'm paying $500 a month for a vehicle that I can't drive because of a blown motor. (My own stupidity)....and I still owe about $7,000 on it...ugh.
Don't worry too much about it babe, it's only money...it's not worth getting too stressed about. As far as your brother is concerned...tell him to get stuffed. He was obviously aware that his transmission was already going if he was worried about if it was in OD or not...at the very worst you should maybe pay a portion of the repairs...but certainly not the whole thing, that's absolutely ridiculous. I'm surprised that your brother would even ask that of you.

I'd bet your brother set your car on fire (rig'd it so it would) that way you'd have to borrow and break his car.
Good luck with that. I was in debt $3500 for a seadoo that was stolen (I didn't have ins. cause it was in the shop when it was stolen and now that shop is bankrupt.) I owe less than a grand on it now.
