Bass players

I knew a bass player who once told me that playing the bass alone isn't much of anything. He said it wasn't a big deal. I'm thinking...WTF? I can understand that you can't make an album alone on bass playing, but come on...the bass is a big deal. I play the bass and I love it. It's a very important part of the group as all the others instruments are.
I love to just browse peoples profiles on MySpace who play the bass and I can just listen to them.
Bass playing IS a big deal whether you think so or not.
I'm a girl, so expect some kind of bitching and whining from me.
Anyway..I've posted this clip before but for those who didn't catch it...here it is again.
Ben...a bass player with skills.
rediculous skills
That is all.
BTW....this is a video.

I play bass, mostly I play classical guitar, but really the instruments carry over to each other. I mostly dont like peoples bass playing though, as they usually just have a single note bass line, or really boring and unchanging bass lines. I try to solo virtually constantly when Im just jamming with my friends. We try to have every member of the group solo continuously, and try to just make a song out of it. Sometimes it comes together, sometimes it doesnt. Certainlymakes for an entertaining session though. I get bored too easily playing bass in a real song setting, just playing the same thing over and over again.

This is something I recorded a couple weeks ago, it's mostly just harmonics and it's easy to listen to so tell me what you think.

here is something i did for a shroomery post a few years ago. it is all 6-string bass tracks layed individually over a repeating drum loop. i basically was trying to show some guy how to multitrack using just the shitty computer mic and acid music. each track is the first take so there are plenty of mistakes... it was just an example.
