is this true?

ok, well i heard that if you take paxil and trip you may get a better trip, never done it myself. I tend to think that it is bullshit, but i was wondering if anyone else might have heard this....

A quickie!

Paxil (Paroxetine) increases serotonin in about the same way as that horrid Cocaine increases dopamine.

Since Psilocybin & such also act on Serotonin (5-HT) Paxil might increase or decrease it's strenght and give you a rougher or smoother ride. I've seen that several people think it gives a better Trip. I really can't recommend it.

NEVER EVER USE PAXIL + DISSOCIATIVES (Nitrous, Ketamine, PCP, DXM)

The Combi PAXIL + SURGICAL NARCOSIS AGENTS (all Dissociatives) Fucks people up after surgery like you wouldn't believe, a nurse aunt told me.

So please abstain. By the way: Isn't your question like totally misplaced here? Might get more replies in "Trip Tips". HAVE (SAFE) FUN !!!

Just as a first hand experience I thought I'd add this.....

I had been taking paxil between May 2001 to December 2001... Anyhows, one night I went out and bought a bottle of robo (DXM, Disassociative) and decided that I was bored so i was going to trip. Well, i drank that bottle like it was candy and for the next 6 hours I was unable to function(mentally, physically, you name it). I was as close to comatose and dreaming (weird dreaming) conciously as you can get, and it was PAINFUL! Felt like someone was ripping my mind apart, about 100 times worse then my most intense mushroom trip (although disassociatives and hallucinogenics aren't really comparable).

Anyhows, lesson learned was don't mix paxil and DXM if you cherish your health.

Side note : The next day I had migraine headaches and began vomitting throughout the day, and dry heaving constantly when nothing was left in my stomach. This lasted approxiametly 24 hours after the trip's effects ad totally worn off. Approxiametly 2 days after the trip i was overcome with flu-like symptons (including 101.2 degree temp) and they lasted until about day 3. Could be coincidence but i think not.

Thought anyone out there who wants to try DXM and is taking an SSRI should know about this from my experience.

*laugh* Your post about DXM with Paxil sounds like my friends DXM trip without Paxil. I'm not saying that Paxil doesn't make it worse (can it get worse?). The description of someone ripping your mind apart though pretty much sums up DXM from my point of view. My friend was a carpet toy for a good six hours. It felt like reality had just been pushed through a cheese grater. My friend has never enjoyed DXM. Avoid DXM and stick to the things nature gave us to enjoy.

Here is a quick synopsis of a DXM trip:

1) Suck down a bottle or two of nasty tasting 'tussin
2) Wait
3) Start to shake
4) Start to itch
5) Really start to itch
6) Hot flash! Puke!
7) Chills, wish I could move.
8) Goto step 6, repeat for an hour
9) Somebody please put my head back together
10) Somebody pelase stop this ride, I want off
11) This sucks, goto step 9, repeat for four hours
12) Sober up slowly
13) Ugh... this hangover sucks
14) Ugh... first puke, now this
15) Ugh... the trip sucked, the hangover sucked, maybe next time wont be so bad
16) Goto step 1, repeat until you learn that the next time is never better

Just passing by...

On DXM I did some research beyond the very good "DXM FAQ" and something I found on Erowid I really think everyone should see is "This Is your Brain on Dissociatives" It's really a MUST READ even if you don't like those at all.

My experience: Several times on modest DXM I wished I were on good ole Grass.
That once I had a relatively big one I wished I'd never became a druggie at all !!!

My reccomendation as to DXM: The only thing I think of as safe, but it's a wild guess based on the many things I've read & the fact that DXM is like a brick when it comes to metabolizing it (hard on the liver!) and that boils down to that a dose of just 1-1.5mg/kg of it MAY BE safe. If you like to venture beyond this Vodka like effect & have high faith in your bod vs. the synthetic I really think you never ever should venture beyond 5mg/kg (all as DXM.HBr.2H2O) but that too may be exessive.
My honest advice: DON'T TAKE DXM. Mushrooms're better anyway, or just stick with reefer...

THE WEED IS ALL YOU NEED !!!
