ok, this might sound weird to some of you but whatever. a few minutes ago i was posting waiting for 12:00 to roll around when i just got this urge to start meditating. i meditated for about 4-5 minutes in which time i felt this energy and i sort of entered this trance type of thing. i kept telling myself stuff so that i would remember to write about it but afterwards i only remembered a few of the things. i felt like the world around me melted away. i know this sounds kinda cheezy but whatever, it was cool. did anyone else experience anything cool. did anyone else even try it? haha.

Well, since I saw this post in time to actually figure out the time difference and get that it was the right time, I decided to try it. So, I guess I should mention that I never really seem to get anything from meditation, I just can't seem to do it right even though i've read about it quite a bit. What I did was start by focusing on my breathing, and then then eventually thinking about all the other people who may be doing the same thing at that very moment. My mind just kept wandering off though, as usual. So other than feeling slightly more relaxed then usual I didn't notice much.
Guess there's really no point to this post, other than to say I tried it at least. Oh, that and since i'm not so sure i'm awakened maybe that has something to do with it, along with not really being able to meditate.

Its a cool idea atleast.
WHat comes to mind should be nothing really when meditating, the still mind has its effects on any cognition that follows it. SO maybe the next time you try this experiment, you should try to give it more structure. Like a series of symbols to be written at the same time by everyone who knows what those symbols are. You seem to be really interested in the group experience.
It would work best if you started with a few non-random symbol patterns and then ask everyone to try to fool the pattern and see what people come up with after meditation. Then again that sounds even more crazy than thinking there will be something in common within all of us when we meditate. Why did you want everyone to meditate at the same time, and then reply.

I did the above experiment with friends after a 2 day session with ayahuasca using a deck of cards. It was easier to observe than over the internet, and the effects were amazing. My theory was that I could break the laws of probability after a few hands(I knew I could do it, thats why I suggested the experiment). The person who made the first pattern of 5 cards, was to try to fool me from the beginning. The results were astonishing. I was still completely fused with something greater than myself 6 days after the ayahuasca. As they say, everything can be explained with math, and so can a friend with a deck of cards.
He picked his first set(for the most part they were random), I got 2 right(we were not considering the suits). He would try to fool me from then on and so on(those were the rules). His intention was the reason for what followed. The next 6 hands I got 3 right first, then 3 right again, then 5!, another 4, then 2 again, then 4. I wanted to continue, but it freaked out everyone in the room. The guy who was picking the cards pretended like he was no longer interested. That was not the case. I was, In a way, reading his mind via mathematics... He is sort of ego-centric, and wanted no part in it anymore. Im glad it stopped there becuase he would have stopped following the rules and would have started picking cards at random. He was my best friend for a long time, thats partly why it worked so well. I know him well enough to see him cheating from that point on, so im glad the experiment stopped when it did.

I've had feelings of being connected to other people while on mushrooms, although it was more a connection caused by us all essentially sharing the same atoms getting recycled over and over breaking down and then building back up into new molecules repeating in a cycle that allows for the birth and decay of new people...
