Will this work ok...

Im trying to keep this as neat and cost effective as possible. I have a small tub that I want to use as my incubator. If I fill the bottom with water, put the submersible water heater in, can I also place my jar in the water as well? I dont mean all the way under but like midway up the jar? The reason I dont see the need for another tub is because im only doing 1 quart jar. I figure as long as the heater doesnt move and the jar doesnt move it should be fine right?
