we bought our first 4qt PC at walmart and i figured since it was from walmart it probably wasn't at 15psi so i put a wet sponge on top to increase the pressure...then i decided to put a wood spoon on that just in case... well OPPS! the safety ring blew out and melted setting of the fire alarm in our apt (we just moved in) the whole place filled with horrible smoke getting us loopy (and a terrible headache) we had about 3oz of pot on the counter and mushroom stuff all over!!! was terrified it might auto call (or our neighbors) the 911 cause we couldn't get it to turn off for a few mi, and our neighbors came over yelling at us... after it all cooled the PC was completely warped outwards like a ball, so i returned it to walmart and bought one on ebay what a horrible experience!!!

LOL OMFG best quote ever.
I was picking my nose(had a nasty cold) while inspecting my first grow bag, as in first atempt. I somehow ripped the bag and touched the MYC with a nasty buggered finger. overnight mold had grown in this nasty green/blue/orange. kinda trippy to look at though.
Not a blupper but w "ooops!" the first time i grew with WBS i had my bags weighed out in verious amounts. I wanted to do 3grams. but i grabbed a 1/4 bag instead. had fasted for 2days and about 30minutes later i reliezed i made a mistake... duh...

This is why I will only use Lysol wipes in a hepa filtered glove box.
Years ago, I sprayed lysol in my glove box, let it sit for half an hour. When I came back and tryed to flame streilize a needle, it blew up. Their was a 4-5 foot flash fire. The glove box lid hit the ceiling. One corner stuck in the sheetrock so it hung there. I didn't see it right away so I thought it had been disinagrated. Another time I left the gloves off so it could vent the flamable gasses. Half hour later, I passed a flame infront of one of the holes to make sure it had vented. A blue flame flowed out of one arm hole like a flame thrower or a cannon blast. It burned all the hair off of the back of one arm. As the flame died down it backed up into the glove box. It glowed blue and bulged out, after makin a loud whoop sound the flame shot out the other arm hole. When the glow was gone the heated plastic warped inward. I was lucky it was a fast burning gas and not a flamable liquid.
Have fun, Be safe.

I was cooling some casing soil in a giant turkey oven bag in my freezer to speed things up, some how the bag got open and I was sweeping peatmoss and coir outta my freezer for an hour. Still haven't stuck myself with a syringe yet, sure it will happen at some point...

TIP: get your needles from ink cartrige refill kits. They are longer and blunt. No holes in you. Another blooper: Of course I have burned myself with a just flamed needle before. I forgot about that one.

Once, in a complete grow ROOM set-up (adjoining a large green-house)20 some odd 12 quart trays of compost 4 inch's deep, spawned @ 20% rate & covered with pin holed cling wrap were nearing 100% colonization, without any contamination. Farmer Jones was a happy camper, at this point.
2 days later, Jones enters grow room, to discover every trays cling wrap cover had about a 1/2 in hole in it & some little creature (or group of creatures) had been rooting around in EVERY SINGLE F*CKING TRAY.
Totally perplexed, Jones looked EVERYWHERE for any spot a tiny creature could enter that room & found NONE.
Next day Jones finds the same thing AGAIN, only this time WORSE.
Meet Mr. Shrew & about 22 family members. Who chewed out a finger sized hole in the rubber seal at the bottom of the entry door.
Needless to say, EVERY SINGLE F*CKING TRAY CONTAMINATED.
Bottom of rubber door seal was replaced with a thin strip of 18 gauge sheet metal. Which resolved the SHREW PROBLEM.

I haven't had many bloopers yet. One day as I was sitting in the kitchen with some jars PCing, my brother walks up to the stove. I probably should have warned him not to touch it, but I honestly didn't believe anyone was dumb enough to reach out and grab the pressure regulator! Luckily he didn't pull the whole thing off, as he pulled his hand away as soon as extremely hot water was flying in his direction. I was able to just push the regulator back into position, thank god for the safety backup thing!

haven't been growing that much (it's only my second time around doing PF tek) but the first time i cooked the LC jars along with the substrate and wondered why i'm not getting any results...
i did it this time too... wasted half a syrange of the last of one strain... then i started reading about LC a little more to find out it shouldn't be PCed for that long
oh well...

I started growing when I was in high school and living with my mom. So all the work I had to do, I had to time for when she would be gone and I could get away with using the kitchen. One day, I had an oven bag full of vermiculite which I was sterilizing. Everything was going ok as far as I knew... I was just watching TV waiting for it to finish, then all over a sudden I heard this phenomenal BOOM. It was terrible. It sounded like a bomb had gone off. I ran into the kitchen to see what had happened, and apparantly the oven bag had got stuck in the steam release hole, and the pressure got so high it blew the weight and safety release off. I thought that one of the neighbors had to have heard and there would be cops there any minute to arrest me. I don't remember what I did with the PC, but I know I spent the next 45 minutes before my mom got home frantically cleaning vermiculite off of the ceiling.

Damn mice!
Just the other day I was spawning some horse manure. After finishing packing it down a bit, I had to go down stairs to get some foil to cover the tub with. Well when I got back upstairs to my surprise my damn kitten was standing in the middle of the tub. lol! I can't wait to see how the pans out. Maybe this was a retaliation for me spraying hot agar all over the other cat. I knew they were up to something.

I was making a spore syringe in a glove box. When pulling off the needle cap which was stuck a bit I jerked it off and ran the needle right through my finger on the other hand. When I pulled my hand out it was sticking clean through. Now I always make sure I can remove the cap BEFORE I put them in a glove box.
