Ok....I need some help...this has never happened!

Alright...I've got a dilema that I can't seem to fix. I have a couple casings that just REFUSE to pin. I've tried cold-shocking and deep-scratching, but neither has worked. The mycelium just keeps growing thicker and thicker and I'm soon to have overlay. How the hell can I get these suckers to pin? I've never had a problem like this, so I don't know what else to do....any help is appreciated!

I've started fanning even more times per day, but so far it hasn't helped.

Casings need high humidity to pin.

Read:

Just keep the air flow goin. Deep scratching will prolong your pins to come. As long as you have sufficent air exchange, temps in the 70s, light and high humidity, they should pin soon enough.

How long have they been getting light and fanning? How long since you deep scratched? It will take a couple of days to recover from that. Extra fanning is good as they do need oxygen to pin. Maintain hope! good luck!

Josh...

I had the same problem...For several weeks all I grew was more mycellium...no pins...I got overlay...I deep scratched...Nothing...

Finally, I re-cased everything (I was using Jiffymix)...I misted the casings frequently and kept them at very high humidity...(mid 90's)...some will tell you that humidity is on the high side, but it worked...

My advice, is to mist often, fan a few times a day, keep temps in the low to mid 70's, use light about 12 hours a day and maintain humidity in the 90's...

Whatever you do, don't give up!!!
Keep at it...when you get you're first flush, you'll understand mushrooms better, and cultivation will become easier...My casings are now on their 3rd flush and I have to do little or nothing to keep them going...Good Luck!!!
