I just got done using a 21qt AA PC on a ceramic hotplate. Loaded fully with mycobags.
It's a lab grade burner though, and has never shown a problem in toting its load. It's known as "PyroCream" Glass ceramic flat top. I tried walmart-brand skillets/bruners, and even eyed my propane stove real hard, but this is it for me. The walmart plates couldn't get my cooker up to pressure; even using a smaller 18qt PC. I use this and a porcelain lab-grade hot plate.

I PC all my stuff on a flat glass top stove using a Mirro 22 quart pressure cooker. I have never had a problem. Weight may be a concern if you're doing an excessive amount of bags, but I don't do more than 4 bags at a time.

That would be flimsy and underpowered. It would work, but wouldn't be a very elegant solution. My vote is for Cappa's idea of a turkey fryer type propane burner (they are cheaper if you can find just the burner, without the Turkey pot, etc.) Cheaper, stronger, and faster than a camp stove. Either can be used indoors, propane flames do NOT emit carbon monoxide (it's just compressed natural gas). But, you would have to find a non-flammable surface to use it on, and deal with propane bottles, the little ones are spendy, the big ones are a hassle.

This is VERY false. Burning propane not only consumes the available oxygen in a space, it does create Carbon Monoxide. Please do NOT burn one of these things in a house or apartment. Look up the number of deaths associated with propane heaters.
Click This
Natural gas is a natural gas (mostly Methane)....Liquid Petroleum or LP gas is extracted from natural gas and petroleum production.

You are absolutely and positively wrong. I live in a house with propane everything. Stove, hot water heater, furnace, and clothes dryer. These are flames that are all open to the environment and my family is breathing them everyday in an extremely tight house. We are not dead. The combustion products of burning propane are carbon dioxide and water.
Only if the oxygen in the air is so depleted that there isn't enough to support complete combustion of the propane, can carbon monoxide be produced. This doesn't happen except in very unusual circumstances. If you ran a large, unvented space heater in a tiny closed bedroom overnight, you might run into problems, just as you would if you burned any carbon based fuel, such as alcohol or natural gas.
There are millions of people living in houses that are heated by propane, and have other, open propane flames, such as fireplaces, space heaters, dryers, and stove cook tops. You must be thinking of charcoal briquette grills, because they definitely are a monoxide producer and have killed many people. Propane is no more dangerous than natural gas. And that danger is primarily from leaks. I don't know where everyone is getting this propane paranoia.
I used to work for a heat processing systems company. The main products we manufactured were mixing tanks that took propane from tanks and mixed it with atmospheric air to yield a gas that is 100% compatible with natural gas equipment. These units were installed usually as a backup to natural gas for interruption sensitive industrial processes. In downtown Seattle, the natural gas lines used to get shut off fairly frequently, so our equipment would automatically kick in and provide uninterrupted supply.

Have you ever wondered why those appliances have flue vents to carry the combustion gasses away from the inside of the home? The one exception might be the range top.
I am not thinking of charcoal grills. I am talking about a petroleum product in a state of incomplete combustion. Very few LP gas appliances are correctly adjust to optimize combustion. The air and fuel are mixed in a chamber with an adjustable plenum. The goal it to have a totally blue flame indicating clean, complete combustion. And type of yellow color indicating a poor air fuel mixture will cause incomplete combustion and production of carbon monoxide.
I know my gas fireplace has a vent to the out doors, it's code in this state, and across the nation as far as I know. If you live in a place that allows differently then I apologize.
Not to mention, the amount of moisture created during combustion woul become a problem over time.
I think thy make ventless gas heaters, but I, personally, prefer not to live in a chimney full of combustion gasses.

Edgekrusher> That looks nice !! Can I ask about how much did you pay for that and where do you find that? I've been searching and all I find is higher end stuff with electronics and high prices.
Edit: I can't find anything under 100 bucks. For that I will just buy an older used stove out the paper.... damn my neighbor just threw his out -the burners worked but not the oven, I could have had it for free !!

ChefMushroom. I tried flea market skillets and wal-mart stoves before I bought that. Wal-marts couldn't generate enough heat, neither could a toastmaster. It might work for you, but the 220v wiring to my grow-room is shabby and multiple electronics have a hard time running.
I suggest you check Ebay. With patience you can find yourself a lab-grade burner for $30 easy.
